Mini rant. OK. Why did Cruz Azul sign a contract with Umbro for their uniform? They are a pain in the ass to find outside of Mexico. Heck, even finding one in Reynosa is an ordeal. Most of the Cruz Azulinos can only get them in Mexico City.
OK...mini rant done. :D So. I located two stores in the Valley that sell Cruz Azul jerseys. One sells, I think, the 2005 jersey. Another one, sells what seems to be a 2006 jersey at $70! Now. I am willing to pay it up ONLY if it is the real deal. The one that I saw for 2006 looks to be of dubious origin. How do I know if a Cruz Azul jersey is the real replica?

I remember back in the mid 90s I used to go through the same thing, it was a real pain finding authentic jerseys. Many times the jersey be at the store only after they changed uniforms. I always wanted a real Mexican National Team jersey. For some reason I wanted that ABA SPORT one with that big dopey looking "M" on the front. The only one they had in stores when I used to live around OC was that plain looking green UMBRO jersey they used for WC 94. I liked the white one they used against Italy, but it was always in a medium, too small. The only thing I remember was the price was like 88 bucks. Now my inflation calculations maybe a bit off and perhaps my knowledge of import tariffs too (though NAFTA was in effective), but it seems for 1995 in today's dollars the jersey would be around 96 bucks. Sort of expensive.
Same thing with a Pumas jersey a year later. I actually had the money to pay for a real jersey whether it would of been 60-90 bucks but all I could find were damn knockoffs.
I finally just said 'eff it' and just bought a fake one where my big ass pumpkin head had trouble fitting through.

Out here in the Valley I was just at Soccer USA on Van Nuys Blvd looking for a 06 Mexico jersey for my pops. I saw alot of authentic Mexican league jerseys and international ones too, mixed in with some pirateadas. The prices were pretty high though.

No wey deveras, $110 for an authentic green nike mexico jersey. No name or number, just blank. I did however find an old UdeG jersey I hadn't seen since I was a kid.
