I know this sounds implausible and unlikely, but for some reason I have a hunch about what group E will look like come Sunday.

Czech Rep 1 0 1 3pts
Italy 1 0 1 3pts
Ghana 1 0 1 3pts
USA 1 0 1 3pts

I just have a feeling that Ghana are going to have learned from the U.S. v. Czech match and that the U.S. will get a W against italy.

We'll find out tomorrow....but if it turns out to be the case, what a way to end up the REAL Group of Death!!!

That'd be very cool, of course, since those final matches become do or die for all. Ain't going to happen, but it'd be cool.

I would rather have an Italy with 9 points, thank you. :)

That would make for some exciting third games. The Czechs won't take Ghana seriously. I'm praying for a good result for the U.S. tomorow. It'll be a game to remember.

You can add this to your prayer:

"And David put his hand in his bag, and took thence a stone, and slang [it], and smote the Philistine in his forehead, that the stone sunk into his forehead; and he fell upon his face to the earth."

What does David and Goliath have to do with me praying for the U.S. beating Italy?

Now that Eddie Johnson made some stupid comments about "war," Italians will be even more determined to kill on the pitch, and it probably won't be a pretty sight (for USA fans at least.) USA already at a disadvantage, might as well throw out something to provoke Italy too. Now ITA is onto some mission like a "doing it for our (Italian) soldiers." It'll probably be so much fun for them tomorrow.

It worked in the movie Hoosiers.

Never seen it

If you like basketball even a tiny amount, you should see it. It is about a basketball team from a small town in Indiana. It is so small that they can only field 8 players. In Indiana, the state tournament used to be that every high school, no matter how big, competes for one championship. Most states now have tournaments that group schools by size and they give out several titles. Anyway, it is basically about this small, farm town team going up against all the bigger schools.

Won't happen... gonna be another group with a meaningless third round of games.

I mean, I'd like to see the US get a win, too, but I saw nothing in the first games that indicated much chance of this.

I'll be watching, anyway, though.

That's what I was thinking. There was no need to piss them off. It could be another 3-0.

It won't be another 3-0. The U.S. will score at least one goal. The players know it is to important, and I'm expecting one of the most exciting games in the competition. I

Yeah they may even get a perm for the occasion...
