The keeper was the hero, the sub keeper just ran and kissed him at the final whistle.....haha.

Congrats Mexico. You managed to hold a tie against a 10 man team with the refs help.
C'mon Portugal you can go for a "quinje a zero" against these guys.:p

Maybe Ricardo can get a contract with a club now.

Angola now has one point.
If everything else goes according to plan (portugal win with Iran and with mexico) than Angola has an outside chance of making it to the last 16.
just that...
does anyone know how they scored goals during qualifying?
MOM: Ricardo or Kali.

i totally agree.
Concacaf's finest fails to beat Angola... gutsy performance by Angola, especially Ricardo and Kali. Well refereed as well.

It will be fun to see how this game impacts Portugal vs. Iran on Saturday. Angola's style clearly frustrated both Portugal and Mexico, and what can you say about Joao Ricardo? The guy should get MOTM in my book--and he did!! Current Group D standings:
Mexico 4 pts. +2
Portugal 3 pts. +1
Angola 1 pt. -1
Iran 0 pts. -2
It will also be interesting to see how Angola plays against Iran next week. Unless Portugal turns it on Saturday, I can';t see the Netherlands or Argentina worrying about whom they face from this group in the round of 16.

El Tri
- Brilliant start, but lack of finishing results in disappointing draw against weaker, short-handed foe
- 1 point likely means a second place finish to Portugal in the weakest group of all
Angola
- Joao Ricardo deservedly MOTM
- Congrats on brave effort to earn a point

Mexico's attacking inefficiencies, and Angola's SUPERB defending (at-times) allowed for a great and memorable result for Angola.
Portugal now has a moral obligation to beat Mexico regardless of the result against Iran tommorrow, to give Angola a shot.
And to be honest, I thought Angola, when they attacked, did remarkably well. Mendonca was spectacular, bar giving the ball away in the last ten minutes, and almost letting Mexico score.
A close game, and one that Mexico should've won, but HUGE props to Angola for rubbing this one out.
MVP: Joao Ricardo, not always with the right positioning, but he did come up absolutely HUGE against that Rafael Marquez shot.
Congratulations Angola!

i hope to see an offensive Angola in the last match. a draw with Iran is no biggie. a win will earn them some respect.
nonetheless i can';t help but feel sadness that i'm not watching Nigeria instead of Angola...

Where are all the Mexican boosters who were talking a gang of crap about Angola prior to the game...its pathetic that they stereotyped Angola as another defensively weak team with no discipline...that was courageous of Ricardo the keeper and the 10 remaining men...hope Portugal kills you off combined with either Angola or Angola getting through...What a game though...WOW.
