Hey, everyone. I got an e-mail from AFC today as one of the 20,000 invites to the Members' Day event. Anyone else get this?

I won't be able to go, so I hope my spot can be filled by someone in the UK.

Rick, Lanesra, Jeff - anyone know if it can be transferred?

Yes, I was selected as well. I really want to give it to someone that can use it.

I received the email as well, but if you look at the fine print at the bottom, it says:

"Please note that unfortunately this invitation is non-transferable"

I clicked on the registration link. Unfortunately, AFC have not provided a means of declining the invitation. A shame that our spots couldn't be opened up to Gooners in the UK.

member's day...members only....

another set of trends I am not lucky or stylish enough to be part of.

Th14 Georgia, how did you get the invite?

It's all luck of the draw.

Got an invite, but can't go though. I wonder if they invite more than 20,000 with a lot being foriegn fans knowing 90% of them won't come. It would be a good move as it gets people thinking they are important to the club.

Love the caveats:

* Please note that it is unlikely that many of the players' who are representing their countries at the 2006 World Cup will be in attendance. ** Please note that unfortunately this invitation is non-transferable ---

I got rejected and told that I wasn't lucky in the draw. No offense to all those who did get an invite. But that's bullshit. Is your invite a paper invite or is it registered to your card? If so, can someone send me their card? Cheers.

I got an email and the invite was (supposedly) tied to the membership number. I would love to give you mine though.

It's registered to the card. They send you an email and then you go through their system via a link and confirm. I will send you my card and forward you the email if you would like. Hopefully it will get to you by July 20th.

That would be great. Ive just read the e-mail that surfcam sent me. Basically as long as someone has the card, it's fine. I'm going to be asking certain people to send me their cards as per getting tickets anyway. This season you will need the physical card to get into the stadium. All cards that I receive and use (please don't send unless I ask you) I will send back at the end of the season so you have the card as a souvenir.
Cheers.

I think its funny that you can't even get into members day, while a bunch of Americans got invites. I'm guessing that this is the first warm up event for Ashburton Grove's safety certification. Wouldn't that mean that they need a full 20,000? If so, why would they not have an RSVP option to confirm that the people who won the lottery would actually attend.

I imagine they sent the invite to most all foriegn fans knowing they wont be able to go.

I don't think so, I know so.

Considered that most of Arsenal's contests are limited to UK residents only, I'm shocked they didn't at least have a UK-only lottery before opening it to supporters outside of England.

Rick, if you'd like me to register and provide my card so another UK Gooner can go, I'll be glad to.

Rick,

Same here. Since I got an invite and likely won't be able to go I'd be glad to give some one who can the opportunity to go.

I'll be dipping into the ticket well this year so it is the least I can do.
