Ecuador on the verge of being the first to qualify for the second round(along with Germany). Carlos Tenorio has scored an early goal to take the lead. England/Trinidad later on and I hope we see Theo.

Rooney has been cleared after he was examined this morning, so seeing Theo just became a bit more unlikely.

Especially because Rooney is probably gonna go in two footed on Theo in warm-ups so he can play

Rooney starts on the bench for Englland with Crouch and Owen up top. Also, Carragher replaces G. Neville.

Owen is done. His still a good professional, but no longer an international star.

I don't know why ESPN feels so compelled to show close ups of Yorke grabbing his balls

Pretty interesting celebration too :) All right, I got to see the replay of that and think it was a tribute to Otilino Tenorio, Ecuadorian team player who died in a car accident earlier this year. He was known as Spiderman.

Unless we seriously pick it up in the second half I'd say that was a strong possibility.
I'm wondering if Rick's joining in the crowd chants of "Rooney, Rooney"? :D
