Deco and Karimi are two world class midfielders, my question is this. What are the strengths of both and which midfielder is a better player?

karimi if fit would be great to watch and good competition for deco..now not anymore..he's still injured but plays because Iran needs him.

Two Champions Leagues, a UEFA Cup, the portuguese and spanish league medals, Final Euro 2004...Ill put my money on Deco anyday. No offense to Karimi, Deco is just on another level.
A no-brainer really.

deco by far is a MUCH better player than karimi. Cant really compare the 2 because deco is a world class midfielder and karimi is not.

Cant even compare.
Deco is the most all round playmaker in the world...he had one of the best ball recovery ratings in the cl and spanish league, and the best in the rportugeuse league one year...numerous assists and goals as well...

Cant even compare.

seen him play. we have one of karimi's if u need.
I really think Karimi is one the best ball handlers in the
WC. I am not saying it because he is iranian but he
is a very smart player. it is sad to see people foul
the guy when they do not know how to stop him. I
really do not know how he can still play after all these
years of fouls on him.

well this is a "player" comparison and not dribbling contest.. I'd rate Deco higher than Karimi and hope Karimi does something that changes my mind :D

Karimi isnt a world class player. He is sitting on bayerns bench(wrong, not even on the bench) since 2years. Comparing those 2 is a real joke

First of all, he played most of bayerns game.. until he was injured. Hes suppost to replace Ballack now that hes gone. Concidering Karimi's first club in europe is Bayern, it explains the stupidity that took you to make that post. Again, most Iranians do agree that Deco is a much better player, but we wouldn't go that far.

Deco has already proven himself in international football. Karimi is yet to prove himself, as they say in Big Soccer, Karimi is an unkown entity (in international football that is).

Of course Deco.
But Karimi has the potential to become a world class player. [at Bayern] I was very impressed with his workrate and technical abilities. Give him a few more years and let;s review it again. Also, now that Ballack is leaving, Karimi can become the attacking playmaker, Im curious to see if he's up for the task

Don't get me wrong, Karimi is a very good player, but at this point in time I can't see how anyone would take him over Deco.
