Even if France were out after three games, these players would still be "elite european players that play in elite european leagues". That statement is objective.

Um...I never said they wouldnt be

Sorry then, I read what you wrote in a sarcastic way. So, there's still some kind of innocence on these boards ! ;)

Do the French have any sense of modesty? The South Korean team is not as weak as everybody thinks it is. What ticks me off most is how the French think they will lose because of their own faults. Listen to yourselves. Does that even make sense to you? Why is it so hard to admit that another team just might have the upperhand in some matches, hm? That statement doesn't have to necessarily mean that the French are a bad team.

And frankly, nobody has any right to say that the French outclasses or outskills anybody on our Korean team until we have seen them together one-on-one. But remember, soccer is not only about skill. Just as any game, luck is involved, and so is the effective use of teamwork. We can't judge any team based on one or two specific games.

I am also quite offended that many people just automatically assume the Koreans will be beaten based on our one performance with Togo. I admit our team was not the strongest during our match with Togo, and I, too, was highly disappointed. However, do not underestimate us. If you think Korea will lose, then support your prediction with a logical, and I emphasize logical, statement. I accept constructive criticism. I do not, however, support stupid, automatically-assumed assumptions.

And offence intended, since this person didn't seem to care much about anybody else but himself, this is one of the most idiotic posts I have seen in this thread:
who cares if they have speed once they get to the ball they have no skill and can just wait for a french player to get there and take the ball away from them. we are the french every player we have outclasses and outskills anyone on the korean team the only way we lose or even to tie such a team will be our own fault (such as it was on the 13th of june) and not because we got outskilled or outclassed by any opponent... so no the KOREAN TEAM is of no concern to us the destiny of the match is in franc's hands its with all the talent we have its up to us if we want to win or lose

Back that up with a statement with logic, and I will consider it. And do please have some modesty. And for those who are planning to jump on me with name-calling, or anything of the sort, please take into consideration that I have not once said that our Korean team was better. And I never will. The sole purpose of my post was to let some inconsiderate people know that they should not make a fool of themselves with assumptions with no logic, and think that automatically makes them patriotic towards their country. It doesn't.
LOL.Attacking Les Bleus on their board. That's interesting, and already makes you lose your credibility.First of all the French team DOES outskill anyone on the Korean team. That's a fact. How many of the Korean players even play in clubs outside of Asia? (besides Ahn). And if anything the Koreans should not underestimate the French. They will fix their scoring problems in the next game. The Koreans must remember that this isn't the 2002 World Cup.They AREN'T in Korea anymore with their home field advantage and their annoying fans.Unlike the S.Koreans we have a team filled with talent.Korea beating Togo does not mean they are advancing from this group.Togo was a joke. They are probably the weakest African country in the wc.I saw on t.v. the Koreans celebrating (with fireworks even)after their win over Togo.If you think Togo was hard then try taking on a European powerhouse that actually won a World Cup.

Yeah well the french team seems to have no chemistry. where was your "elite european players that play in elite european leagues" during the swiss game? yeah thought so.

i've already said this before and ill say it again... we brought the result upon ourselves by not playing to our potential. and plus swiss are europeans also who play day in and day out in a european league

Umm the JS park? maybe? u heard of him.. plays for manchester.. u noe? and LY Pyo who plays for english premiership... anyways both sides please stop taking shots at whos better. The french are more talented. Koreans can last longer. There. Both Teams strengths. Lets just see which comes in more importantly in a game.

Lets discus WHY korea would win or WHY france would win. and do not say "Oh its because were better" or "Oh its because we have more stamina" because thats only 1 reason and please back it up

Yes, but when it comes down to gametime, it doesnt matter where you play, who you play with, or how good you used to be, all that matters is how well you DO. And right now, France seems to be having trouble with that.

Anyways, whoever wins, i dont want to hear excuses. "oh its because of the heat", "oh ur lucky we hit the post" , "ur goalie just got a finger on that shot so lucky", "that was suppose to be a penalty kick". B!tch Please. You Win you Win , Or You Lose you Lose. Take it like a man. (This referes to BOTH the teams)

Buddy. I live in Canada. We Canadians have to learn French starting at the age of 6. Let me make a translation for the koreans here.

nous sommes les francais- nous sommes les meilleurs
= We are the French- We are the better ones.

Wow... I have a French friend and he told me his countrymen were pretty sly at times... I didnt believe him... till now. He also told me the French think there language and there people, and there country, and everything about them, are the most beautiful in the world. Well pretty boys that wont help you in the football field

Prejudices. According to a poll, almost 70% of french people said they didn't believe in the national team chances for this world cup. We are realistic. That's the worst rate in Europe. So please if you don't know what you're talking about, shut up!

Besides, we wouldn't be discussing topics about football on an english board if we were so ethnocentrics... Let me ask, do you come to french language boards to share point of views ? YOU seem the real arrogant person here.

dude, does one simple statement that is seemingly offensive and "sly" (which it is really isn't, anybody can figure out what that means even non-francophones - and I doubt navid was trying to hide anything from you) suddenly confirm all the negative stereotypes about french people? That's ridiculous. Let's keep this discussion on football remember?

I think you're also underestimating the backlash that's going to hit the french team if they lose - unless there is a real reason to complain (say a disallowed goal that should've been valid), then I'm pretty sure all of the blame is going to be placed on Domenech and the rest of the squad, not the koreans.

soyons raisonnables, c qu'un jeu - on espere tous qu'il y aura du spectacle demain et c sa le truc le plus important.

Nike.Air ...Please, Please do not compare the last WC with This one... FIrst off, we had thousands and thousands of fans chanting and intimatdating the other team. Also we seem to play much better on home soil. Lastly, Our WC squad in 02 was MUCH stronger then the one we have now. Our midfield back then was solid, argueably the best in the 02. And now its......weaker to put it lightly. And also we did have luck on our sides as 2 Italian players got red carded ( 1, or 2 i dont remember) and if i recall properly we scored in injury time, also lucky, and any team no matter what that wins a game in OT or Shoot out is very lucky Very true, yet many people seem to underestimate Korea. Btu I do believe that France is a better team, but soccer is not a sport that can be determined by stats.

One last note: Not only are every individual French player more talented, but we are **TECHNICALLY** superior that is where it counts. If we can play to our technical capacity-- quick passes, accurate passing-- than we should break down any defense.

Anyhow --> ALLEZ LES PUTAIN BLEUS!!! TROIS ZERO SCORE FINAL, J'ESPERE!:D

Brazil is, winning multiple World Cups in a row. And like I say again, just because the French are more talented and the Koreans are more endurable, doesn't mean you can rely on those pros to determine who wins. Noone expected Ghana to beat the Czechs. So there. Let's jsut watch the game tomorow, see who wins, and see who advances okay?:o

Well luckily for les bleus Byron Moreno will not be in charge of the game on Sunday :p.

After watching the US-Italy match, Moreno would have been an upgrade over this clown.
