How cool would it be if we could get this going right before the game or before the second half? Like when the English fans sang that song right before the second half. I think it would be cool, anyone with me?
God Bless America, land that I love
Stand beside her, and guid her,
through the night with a light from above
from the mountains, to the prairies
to the oceans, wide with foam
God Bless America!
my home sweet hoooooome,
God Bless America!!

We were going to homie, at least my friends and I... but then we went down 3-0 and voices were lost.
Listen for it Saturday, I'm sure a lot of us will get in on that early on.
This and America the Beautiful are good KO songs.

I'm all for it. Actually, I was doing it at the Czech game, but the rest of our fans were so SILENT! (I was the crazy short Bangladeshi guy jumping up and down trying to get people pumped up towards the front of block 64.)
We should also definitely do America the Beautiful. But more than songs like these we need more fun chants. Michael Davies rightfully killed us in his blog for not singing. How about the Red White and Blue chant to the tune of Yellow Submarine? That's an easy one that everyone can do. Also, we should definitely do Here We Go and end it with a big U-S-A!

That's exactly the problem. Not to your fault, but the education of the US fan has been lacking when it comes to songs & chants. We have to remember that we (as a country) are still fairly new at this...use things people know already (God Bless America, America the Beautiful, Yankee Doodle, etc) with easy chants repeated more than twice.
Let's start basic & build up the catelog of songs as people get more educated. Enough of this haughty attitude of some supporters that tell everyone to screw off if they don't know the songs Sam's Army made up.

It was sung at the 9:11 mark of the game in columbus (mabye a little over the top with the timing, but whatever...still sung loud and proud!) Also, America the Beautiful has been sung at the end of games traditionally, especially the ones in columbus... great victory song.

I agree.... Easy, familiar.... and loud....
I´ve been in Germany since the 8th... Hamburg (with 50K Germans at the Opening night Fan Fest on the 9th) Gelsenkirchen... now Kaiserslautern.... The Germans have a great one that I´m sure you´ve heard... It translates...
Stand Up Deautchland, Score a Goallllllll, Score a Goalllll, Score a GoooOOOaaalll....
We´re singing...
Stand up Yankee, USAaaaa, USAaaaa, USAaaaaAAAAaaaa
Stand up Yankee, USAaaaa, USAaaaa, USAaaaaAAAAaaa
...and show up early to the K-Town Fan Fest on Saturday... It is 1\4 the size of Gelsenkirchen (I´m here now...).

IIRC, we were singing one of these 2 in Hartford when McBride scored! There were people pre-match trying to coordinate an effort in the Czech game, but it never got started in my section, probably due to the short period after the first goal,

We started that tradition in Foxboro vs. Jamaica, in the first match after 9-11.
I'll never forget the time a "fan" got upset with us for singing that song because it was "religious with jingoistic overtones." Good thing I don't hit women.

I'm not a fan of the song God Bless America (just poorly written, in my opinion), but I'm cool with it as long as you don't start singing anything by Lee Greenwood. ;)

Actually, it was in RFK during another match (El Salvador?)

To me, it's pretty funny that everyone wants more songs and chants like every other country has them. This is NOT TRUE. I sat in the German section during the Germany-Costa Rica match, and about the only ones they had were:
Deutsch-land, clap-clap-clap, Deutsch-land
Berlin, Berlin, wir fahren nach Berlin (which I tried to get going at the US-Czech match, but in English - Berlin, Berlin, we're driving to Berlin)
Only in Koln (during Portugal-Iran) did I hear anything different, but that was only once when all of the local Koln fans sang the song for the Koln team. Other than that it was Port-u-gal or An-gol-a all night. Supporters don't have a big variety, and generally cheer the name of their country...so I repeat: why is it that we feel the need to have an entire song book. If you want ALL US fans to get involved (as opposed to the few that have checked the SA link), keep it simple with U-S-A and different variations thereof.
Why not try something simpler - get everyone to wear the same color. Otherwise, to me, what we sing is pointless if we can't even get united as a supporters section, and clothing is the easiest to coordinate...but what do I know, we just look like a bunch of rag-tag individuals compared to the supporters of EVERY other country here.

I was at the Jamaica match in Foxboro in October 2001. We sang it then. I get chills thinking about it. Thousands of Americans (including a friend of mine) and at least 17 Jamaicans were murdered on 9/11 and it was a very strange but exhilirating match. Both teams embraced in the center circle before the game. I had a lump in my throat for most of the tailgate, the match, and the post-game tailgate.
Kasey Keller wore a New York firefighter's shirt afterwards and the crowd chanted 'FDNY' and 'NYPD' throughout the game.
I'll never forget any of it.
