ok ive got i slight issue here. The worldcup is upon us and ive spent all year talking to you guys on the bayern board, and now that the biggest show on earth is going on, i cant seem to find you guys anywhere to talk about the worldcup and the matches in general. I dont want to speak out Bayern or German players only, i want to talk football.
So my question is where to i go, do we start our own thread or do we just bounce around the WC Threads.
BMike you normally start threads at the drop of a dime, im dissapointed in you buddy.
Makkay i havnt heard you curse someone in ages, are you ok. Magath is still an arse right?
Wheres all the great insights from Essimen (sp? but u know urself),FF,FR,DF,Scorpio and all the rest briliant minds.
This blows

I am also busy moderating group A in the WC forum and I am also busy at work...so I can't get to everything. :( or at least, respond to everything.
But I will try

Thanks boys.
Now everybody can talk shyte about the WC.
AUSSIE AUSSIE AUSSIE. (what a freaking comeback, take that Japan)
I think so far the only really impressive side has been Italy for the usual defensive but clinical self. Well the Chezs didnt do too badly (my favorites to win it all......take that you bloody yanks)

HEHE, well I did sort of start a thread like this then someone modified it to Bayern fans only. I attempted to have a coup but it sort of fell short. I did myself though mention how I tried to post in the WC group forums but noone is around from over here. I was sort of disappointed in it bc I love talkin to you guys like I mentioned in the other WC thread in the Bayern forum. We have all grown on each other and enjoy talkin to each other, the WC Group forums are a mess and everyone seems to want to attack each other. All I wanted was a peaceful conversation with you guys, its nice to see that the Mods finally allowed it this time :)
btw...Scorpio probably won't be around for a while because he is traveling around Europe with his woman and will be with his buddy in Hamburg for the match of Czech Republic vs Italy.

I was soo p!ssed that the damn aussies, won, because they have a good chance of beating Croatia, and I picked Brazil and Croatia to advance, but then again I picked Poland to win this group and that crap hit the fan after the first match. They can still sneak in, but they need to hope for an Ecuador loss or draw against Germany and Costa Rica. And Poland needs to beat Germany and Costa Rica. So it will be a tough test ahead.
I have been watching every single match soo far of the tournament, but some I had to resort to watching the Spanish channels (more exciting but can only understand basic spanish) because I am working on my Grandma's house on the southside of Chicago trying to fix it up so it can be sold before I go back to school in August.
Matches I'd like to note:
Germany vs Costa Rica, a pretty impressive and dominating performance. I like how Klinsmann wants them to play offensive football, it is what the team is meant to do especially with the speed of Schneider and Lahm charging the flanks sending crosses. Now if Podolski can play in better form and Ballack back in the lineup they will be a force to be messing with.
Sweden vs Trinidad and Tobago, great performance by TnT, if they get a good result against Paraguay I think they can easily draw to England and move on. If it wasn't for an own goal Paraguay would have draw or maybe even beaten England. England is definately missing Rooney, and Michael Owen is not fit coming back from his own injury as I didn't even notice he was really in the match. Crouch is and will always be a big giant oger, or a waste of sperm, whatever you may call him, he is no good and they should have used Defoe or the kid from Arsenal.
Mexico vs Iran, what a display by the boys south of the border. I was figuring something like this would happen. They are too good, and Iran disappeared and were outplayed, Karimi had good 20 minutes in first half then faded.
Czech Republic vs USA, as much as I was secretly hoping for the US to sneak out of this group into the next round I moreso figured something like this would happen. The US doesn't and has prooved that they do not have any playmakers that can take over the match, they are in for a tough road ahead against Italy, they will lose and go home. But Ghana before the US leaves will give them a tough match and maybe could beat the US as well, but it will be close, the only really star the US has is Beasley and they Arena is using him defensively, when the he played with the Fire and plays with Eindhoven they use his speed to exploit defenses, he is no use playing defensively. Toni, Totti, and company will proove too much.
Argentina vs Ivory Coast, impressive match, best one I have seen out of all of them soo far. this is definately the group of death, the Dutch and Argentina have a good foot in the door with 3 pts alread but Ivory Coast will make a fight to sneak through and knock one of them out. Drogba is prooving to be a playmaker and a leader which is hard for him to show at Chelsea, and they have a good lineup of quality players that play for Big Clubs in Europe. If there is one African club, or any club in the tournament that would be a surprise it would be them, unfortunately they were drawn into the group of death.

My favorite matches so far have been Germany/Costa Rica, Sweden/T&T, Arg/Ivory Coast and Australia/Japan. Fantastic atmospheres in each of those games.
I also enjoyed the Czechs dismanteling the Americans. France did not look very impressive today, Sagnol was the only one working forward from the back and Zidane and the rest of the midfield looked very tired, especially Vieira. Henry can't do all that work on top without any quality service. I'm tipping them to be another disapointment this year round.
I hope Croatia upsets Brazil today, that would make my year!

I'd be very excited if Croatia beat Brazil...but I don't hate Brazil. They're very fun to watch.
I'm pulling for Switzerland to come out of their group. If only they could score...
Also, although I'm very sad to see the US lose, I do like the Czech team. If the US beats Italy it will be a miracle...

I have the yanks coming in third in the group but only on goal difference, i think they will draw against a defensive minded italy.
let me share an awful secret (shhhhhhhh not tell anybody ok), i lived in Trinidad for 4 years loved every minute of it, was drunk 8 days out of the week, but i hate Trinidadians (although my best friend is from Trinidad  ), theyre too full of themselves, so im quite pissed that sweden played like they did.
Im freaking stuck at work, my PC died over the weekend so i cant record the matches so im walking around town looking for a VHS tape. hoepfully ill have the dinosaur up and running by tonight

The problem with France is all the superstars don't have any chemistry together. Sort of like England but worse, they all have their moments but none can all play as a team. Sagnol, Zidane, and Wiltford(spelling) all looked like they wanted to play as a team. But many others did not.
I too want Croatia to upset Brazil, I still want Brazil to move on, but I want Croatia too. And with a win today that will keep Croatia on pace with Australia, bc I think Australia might beat Croatia, but I know Brazil will make it to next stage by destroying Australia and Japan. Hopefully if Croatia does lose its by one goal, and that noone gets injured because it would be devastating to see the ruins of Croatia after the match. Well I'm off to watch the match. will be back soon :)

I dont see brazil walking over Japan, for me this going to be the shocker of the tornament. Brazil are goin to beat crotia and crotia will draw against Austrialia sending Brazil and the Aussies through.
I know you didnt want to hear it BMike but youre a big boy you should be able to take it like a man.
Im still hoping Croatia can pull a rabbit out of their arse, oh i wish.......and yes i hate those damn brasilians.
Although they do make good porn and carnival is just insane.

I feel kind of guilty, but I really don't want Ronaldo beating Gerd Müller's scoring record. :o
Am I alone on this one?

The way Ronaldo's playing today, he won't have an easy time getting the record.

how many goals does he need to get?
anything under 8 and so to say he'll get it
how is Ze performing at the DM role? quite an interesting position to field him in

Ronaldo needs three to break the record
You know...I was too busy with a lot of other things, and did not really focus in on the game/player...I will say this....Croatia had some good chances to score .

i was actually pretty disappointed by brazil. they hardly ever really played the kind of soccer we were all hoping for. yes, the croatians did a good job as well, but brazil, man, they couldnt have complained about a 1:1 draw.
