If you're a Vegan, you might end up looking like this (http://www.oea.umaryland.edu/news/media/rosaliascalia100.jpg).
Embrace the beef, dude.

Gee I thought the title of the thread was for veggie recipies, not an invitation for people to be d icks.

Yeah its tough. But I guess people see the jackasses from Peta and they think that all vegans or vegetarians are high and mighty so they go for the preemptive strike. Its a shame.
anyway anyone that actually has a goddamn recipe post it, anyone that has lowbrow anti vegan or whatever humor there is a nice thread for that here...

What kind of veggie stuff do you like? It's so hard to chose one from the many without a hint.
I live in a country were vegetarians are an almost unknown specie, so at the moment I'm incredibly happy to have found a person who makes veggie dogs!
I have this cookbook called How it All Vegan by Sarah Kramer and Tanya Bernhard that's great (best vegan pancake recipe I've tried!) Easy recipes and most ingredients can be found at a supermarket if you don't have access to a health food store or coop but they're not all exactly low fat (there's a lot of comfort food recipes that are very yummy). On Amazon it indicates that a new version is coming out soon.

What dogs do you like, Tofu pups, Morningstar Farms, Yves? What about tempeh? I've only tried twice and it just made me gag!

We don't really have too many, we're fairly spoiled by the availability of vegetarian dishes and products out here in Vancouver. Yves just like ground is great for meatlesss spaghetti sauces and chilis. Yves does supply the veggie burgers for MCDonalds in Canada now although the idea of going to Mickey D's for a veggie burger isn't apppealing.

Man I love the hell outta Morningstar Farms anything. They seem to have their stuff down pat, but I don't think they are vegan, are they? I would love to see that vegan/veggetarian pancake recipe...I'll contribute so recipes tomorrow, i don't have my cookbook here at work :)
Also this may be better in the resturants thread, but if any of you cats are ever in Chicago check out the chicago diner on halsted.

I did have some good tempeh in the sheppards pie at this place. Also their cheesesteak made with seitan is just unbelievably good.

Well, here's one of my favorites (warning: this is an example of "guy cooking" and "grad school cooking," i.e., things from a jar meet things from a can:
In a skillet: sautee diced onions until they start to go translucent. Add one can of chickpeas (drained). Sautee for about 30 seconds, then add your favorite Indian spices (I use a teaspoon or so of Patek's Kashmiri Masala and another teaspoon or so of one of their curry pastes -- available at any Indian store and good grocery stores). Sautee until the chickpeas are coated. Add one can of tomatoe sauce (or diced tomatoes). simmer for 10-12 minutes over low heat. Serve over rice or cous cous.

Really? That's surprising. Tempeh is about the only way I could stomach tofu on a regular basis. I was at a language school in Java living with Javanese family and had tempeh practically every day. It was fried crispy. Not bad. Better than wobbly jiggly tofu, IMO.

Maybe I need it expertly prepared (I've tried twice seasoned and non). I thought it had a sharp taste.
I like most of the Morningstar stuff although haven't tried the Buffalo wings, some of the fake chicken options are like eating a tire. I love the sausage patties (with my vegan pancakes!)
Amy's makes some OK frozen food (got to read the labels for the vegan stuff).

Amy's is good but expensive as hell.
I know that most morningstar stuff uses egg whites, but most amy's and imagine stuff doesn't.
I've been craving pancakes all day now cause of this thread. man.
