Baros is out for the Czechs and so is his usual replacement Smicer. Thus, Koller will probably be the only striker up front. The good news is that Rosicky and Galasek have both recovered and will be playing.

I'm looking forward to this game, and I'll be heading down to the local pub to watch it. :)

Cesi do toho! :D

I look forward to it too, although i'm sort of questioning why. I think both teams are highly overrated (2nd and 11th on FIFA ranking) but the Czechs usually produce a decent game versus opponents that want to play as well (Czech Republic - Holland during EC anyone? best game of the tournament).

2-0 at half, congratulations...looks like the 3 points are in the bag...

I am, of course, cheering for all the Slavic teams in the World Cup, hopefully one of us can bring it home.

Another embarassing loss for the US, when will they ever learn they cannot compete with the european powers.

I'm an American fan and would like to say congratulations. You dismantled us and deserved it.

echoing Footao's comments. You owned us. Any word on Koller's status? Tomas' name is pronounced Ro-sitz-ky, no? Any suggestions on which of your fine alcoholic products (with easy availability in the US) I should use for tonight's bender?

Echoes of 2004. When the Czechs play at their best, they are a sight to behold.

Just stopping over to say congrats. to you guys. You totally outclassed us.
Koller's injury is bad news. I wanted to see him play more.
A (non-soccer fan) friend asked me what to watch for yesterday, and I said, "the one to watch is Rosicky."

Best of luck going forward.

Congratulations Czechs!!;)

I'm happy for the czech team, you are a 1rst level squad, is the 1rst match that I'd really enjoy watching, Czech Republic plays FOOTBALL, not like most of the teams in this WC.

I'd like too much the match of Koller, Rosicky, Nedved and Grygera.

I hope Baros will be ok for the next match.

The Americans seemed out of sorts today. They just didn't play as well as they can and their defence looked suspect at best. Hopefully the injury to Koller isn't too serious. I thought the Czech defence looked solid today, but we shall see how they play against Italy and Ghana.

The Czechs could not have asked for a better result. :D

Czechs just get better and better. They were good in euro 2004, now they're just lethal. If my teams get knocked out I'll be rooting for you all.

Good news for the team, btw. Koller appears to not be as badly injured as previously thought. If he and Baros can make it back, what a team that will be!
