I wish the Dutch would play on the right a bit more. Harksie keeps say ing that rvp could be one of the stars of the games despite not starting for Arsenal. That won't happen unless he sees the ball! The one time he did, it worked out very well...

Stankovic tries to pretend he got injured on his own bad foul to avoid seeing yellow, but it doesn't work.

S&M should start the 2nd half with 2 right backs because Holland are intent on giving the ball to Robben at all costs. But it's working...

1-0 at the half. It was all Holland, S&M's attempts at offence were all well handled. I'm going to do my part to support the Dutch by brewing some coffee and smoking another fatty....

Very strong performance from the Dutch and Robben was great in the first half. He was running at the S&M RB at will. RvP needs to see some more of the ball; he's rarely gotten it, but he's made it count when he has seen it with that great pass to Robben. I hope S&M will attack a little more in the 2nd half and make it more end-to-end stuff.

its a shame RvP isn't seeing much of the ball today everything is going to Robben

I think Robben played well--obviously threatening--put maybe vPersie would have had the chance to be more impressive if 1) Robben didn't shoot every chance he had (we call it "passing") and 2) Robben didn't spend a fair amount of time enhancing Serbian tackles. Don't get me wrong, Robben fans, I think he did a great job; however, he could have been a little less selfish and performed even better.
Where was vanNist most of the game?

Anyone else planning to watch the Mexico match on Univision? I don't think I can handle O'Brien and Balboa three days in a row :p.

Nice goal by Mex. from a setpiece. They look patient hitting on the counter. Iran did have two good chances earlier, but they have given a number of free kicks.

this ref has been calling the game very tight so far and Iran can't seem to string a few passes together they have been pretty sloppy to start the game

Wait, wait, wait what the f--- is a "set piece?" Please, someone needs to instruct me as to this term, "set piece." I do not understand.
I think they talked about it once, but damn, I'm a fat, stupid, soccer hating American, please tell me what a set piece 4 or 5 more times during the break.

Damn, the studio and commentators all suck balls.
