The Ref sparkled with larceny.

Was a good game - proud of my boys.
Represented Africa well. Hopefully they can get some points in their next 2 games.
A lot of missed chances on both sides - Argies took theirs, CIV did not.
All the best to Argentina; I have them winning the whole thing and on today's showing, they may well do it.

Very good game. Questionable tactics and subs by Pekerman in this game. Leaving Palacio out there as the only forward .
The only problems I saw with the ref were giving that yellow card for the foul on Saviola when it obviously wasnt a foul. And Sorin should have been carded. Besides that I thought it was pretty balanced.
IC are very dangerous and very fast. They just need to learn how to finish.

2nd half was more disappointing. i was hoping for something like the 1st.
ivory coast, i felt, started the wrong players. they still need to work on their line-up. dindane (the really buff sub) and kone shouldve started. they played hard. definitely need to work on their finishing because they missed some rather easy chances that even Peter Crouch couldve scored. haha.
10 all around for riquelme. this is the way I hope Ronaldinho will play for us. i was shocked when i heard that tevez wasnt starting, but looks like pekerman made the right move by playing saviola. we might still see tevez start against the more physical serbs.

Dundane should get the start, and Zakora disappointed me through today. Kalou was up and down, and that's not going to do in this group.

Quite the OPPOSITE, having stolen two goals from us and doing the extremely minimal carding on Ivorian players.
You must have seen a different match.

Ivory Coast and Argentina both played a hell of a game. I think Ivory Coast had the clear advantage in the second half and the refs let the Argentina players get away with a few too many fouls. Some of them in the box. I can understand why they got a bit frustrated, like when Drogba pegged the goalie with the ball.:D

First decent game in the whole tournament, all the other 3 games were borderline unwatchable but this was actually good.
Groupc C is gonna be fun to watch.

Congratulations Argentina. I'm a latina that's rooting for all the spanish speaking nations, Usa and Italy as well. A step in the right direction. Let's see what the netherlands and Serbia bring to the table. Hope Messi gets better that will make a big difference in future games. Felicidades y buena suerte en el cercano futuro. Espero un buen resultado manana para Mexico. Vamos aver que pasa. Well see what happens

A very good showing by Ivory Coast. Argentina is the second team I support in this WC, but their defensive stance in the second half did a lot to sour the game for me - not to mention their time wasting.
Taking the speed with which the game was played, I think the ref and linesmen were both good.

Two great teams, a great game.
This World Cup had hitherto showcased a couple of exciting games, along with some very boring ones. But none of those games, even the exciting ones, featured top quality football. This one did.
This is a terribly unfair group. 3 of the best teams in this tournament, Argentina, Holland and Ivory Coast, are put in the same group and one of them will not make the round of 16.
Kudos to the Ivory Coast. They may have lost on the scoreboard, but they didn't lose anything else from this match. Such a talented squad.
Congratulations to Argentina. They beat a real good team.

Argentina was lucky not to be drawn by IC. The defending strategy doesn't seem to suit them well, at leat not against very attacking teams like the Elephants. But I am convinced IC can still come out of this group. They just need to improve their finishing a little.

Agreed, but Argentina decided to play more defensive while they were up two goals. Can't really blame them with the schedule ahead. And in the end it worked out for them.
Impressive showing from both teams, and congrats to Argentina on winning it.

The Ivory Coast disappointed me for the middle hour of the match. Yes, you're down 2-0 but it's the fricking WC. Come to play for 90, they could have stolen a point from this match if they would have played the whole thing.

I hope Cote d'Ivoire can rebound, get two wins, and join Argentina in the next round.
Does anyone know who assisted Drogba on the goal? Was it Dindane or Akale? Or someone else?
