The commentary audio is drowning out the crowd noise. It is like watching the FSC broadcasts of the Italian League. Please increase the crowd noise so we can actually get a feel of the atmosphere. It should be like 70% crowd noise to 30% commentary for the audio mix.
People don't tune in to listen to the commentators but watch the match. I wish we can tune out that nimrod who's doing PbP.

The games are in HD, but it doesnt seem that they are in 5.1 surround. Im getting no sound from my Surround Speakers. Usually HD is in 5.1....anyone know one way or the other?

i agree...Im getting HD, but losing out on Atmosphere because of the ESPN audio and the babling OBrien and Balboa...

regular ABC same issue. Couldn't hear the England fans, highly unusual.

I'm watching via OTA, and not getting DD 5.1 either. I don't watch ABC HD much so I don't know their past experience with DD 5.1. Do they use 5.1 for the NBA finals ?
But definitely ABC stepped up the crowd noise audio for the Sweden - T&T
match so far. Maybe somebody from ABC Sports is monitoring these forums. :cool:

I'm watching OTA in Madison, WI.
Definately getting DD 5.1 encoded audio, but it's all center and L/R front.
No rear signal.
I know the EIC at the station, I'll see what he says.

Guys, I merged these to try and reduce the clutter. This is a little different than the general thread so let's try and keep the sound issues here so people have one place to go. Thanks.

Agreed on the sound, and there seemed to be a delay on the audio on Charter cable in Boston. It seemed to have been sorted out by the 2nd half.
Did anyone else notice an audio delay on ABCHD?

Noticed a huge delay at halftime and yes, very quiet crowd noise.

Did anyone else notice in one game yesterday the sound and the picture on ABC were not in sync?? The sound was a little delayed from the picture...anyone know why that happens?

Not sure, but I often have this problem on ABC HD, on all programming not just the World Cup broadcasts. It's the only channel I have issues with.
