What you guys think about this???? i migth say yes
Ecuador gets beaten by 1 goal
Germany takes Poland as a joke and Poland plays Zurawski and Jelen upfront.
Turkey did in 2002

Nope. I think they are finished. The difference with Turkey I believe, is that Turkey played the best team in the group FIRST, and they had the weaker teams after. Poland now still has to face the tournament host, after losing by 2 goals and not scoring in the first game. Costa Rica has a better chance of advancing.

Can they? Probably
Is it likely? Probably not
The only way I can see it happening is if they take this loss as a wake-up call and use it as motivation to play a close game against Germany.
I feel bad for Poland, they've dug themselves into a pretty big hole.

They're done. They needed to beat Ecuador.

The only way Poland will advance is if the Germany team get abducted by aliens. Which slightly more probably than the Polish midfield stringing more than 2 passes togehter.

Well, if Poland beats Costa Rica and Costa Rica beats Ecuador, it would all hinge on whether Poland or Ecuador can steal at least a point against Germany. Or else it would go to goal differential. It is a longshot, but nobody is eliminated after one match.

I was thinking of this scenerio too. In theory all three non-German teams can tie with three points. But unless Ecuador is beaten by multiple goals the next two games Poland will be on the short end of the tie breaker most likely.

Poland most likely needs 2 wins (6 pts) to advance now - and even that might not be enough, depending on other results. (3 teams at 6 pts is possible, leading to tiebreakers)
4 pts *might* do it - but that requires lots of tied games, which seems unlikely now.

4 points will be enough as long as Ecuador loses the next two. Still, I think that would be unlikely. I think 6 points would guarantee advancement. At this point I put Poland's chances at 20%, Germany 95%, Ecuador 75%, Costa Rica 5%.

Polish fans:
How "up" can/will Poland be for the Germany game?
Oftentimes, a political/cultural rivalry brings out the best in players. Is that likely?
Frankly, that's the only way I see Poland advancing, by picking up momentum vs. Germany. At the same time, I predict Germany will come off this victory very high and be looking to continue their momentum.
Germany is a serious threat to win the tourney. Say all you want about the weaknesses, but they've got 2, maybe 3 more games b4 being seriously challenged by an even foe. That's 3 games to work out the kinks.

It is doubtful that Poland will advance, but it is clearly possible. Regardless, I don't want them to advance given how they played against Ecuador. Besides being outplayed tactically, and failing to create any shots or chances against Ecuador for 80 minutes, the thing that disappointed me the most about the Poles was their lack of hustle and overall lackluster demeanor. They showed less zeal in their World Cup opener than you might expect from a side in a totally meaningless friendly. For 80 minutes, the Poles appeared like the game didn't matter much anyway. I can barely tolerate the lack of creativity and flair that a side like Poland exhibits, but I cannot tolerate at all a side that appears in the World Cup (with that many fans cheering it on to boot) and looks disinterested. They only changed a bit the last 10 minutes of the match.

Who Poland reminded me of; was that Colombian team of 1994; that was probably experiencing behind the scenes pressures from the Colombian Underworld; I mean really, they played like they weren't trying or that there was something behind the scenes that we did not know about. Odd thing is this is the second time around playing this way.
The only thing that has a slight bit of hope for them, is how in 2002 they did marginally win their 3rd game against a USA team that had already advanced. If some way, they could try to get some of that spirit into their second game, they might have a chance. But I admit, they looked like a 4th place team.
Costa Rica still has a lot to feel good about in their game today. Not so with Poland.
Ecuador certainly looks poised to challenge for 1st place.

While Poland can surely advance, they basically require Costa Rica to do their bidding; the Ticos must beat Ecuador, then lie down for Poland. My odds of advancing:
Germany & Eduador: 75%
CR & Poland: 25%

The US hadn't advanced. They needed at least a tie to advance. The US was fortunate that the ref of SK-Port went ballistic and gave out 2 red cards. That game had a 0-0 tie written all over it, until SK was pretty much forced to put the ball in the goal.
Poland was smart enough to see that Agoos SUCKED and was responsible for all 3 goals scored by Portugal and SK, so they took it too him and voila. They were, admittedly, a much improved team in that 3rd game.

Poland was horrible today and won't have a chance against Germany, so I think they are going to be 3 and out for this cup. It's too bad because I was pulling for them to do well and still will be, I just don't think they can do it. They will only beat Costa Rica.

I think that this was Poland's chance to stake a place in the second round. The first ten minutes they played well, but after that just looked stale and did not know how to play the game against the Ecudorians. Not saying that Ecuador played them off the pitch, but they finished their chances and looked more lively.
England will have an easy path to the quarterfinals if they can win their group and Germany don't collapse in their last two games.

Poland is done, I wish them the best but it will not happen. Simple no explanation needed.

Ecuador did not play them off the field, but very nearly did. Poland were depressingly mediocre in that game until the final 10 minutes. Who would possibly want a team like that to advance? I don't want to watch that.
Ecuador was hard pressed at the end, and one off the bar, and another off the post were the difference, but one would have expected Poland to come out with a better effort, regardless of the result.
Ecuador was full marks for playing a physical, in your face game in the midfield and along the sidelines, giving Poland little opportunity to establish anything until the final 10 minutes.
My son, who watches very little football, watched about 25 minutes of the second half with me, and made the observation that Poland had absolutely no team chemistry.
Can Poland still make it? Yes, anything is possible, but after that display, do you really want to see them go on?
Ecuador vs Costa Rica will be the game of the group to watch now.
