Ghana 2-1 USA (half time)

reason why I posted this is because I already see the US fans making threads about being robbed. They just love complaining about everything

the direct live on equipe.fr leads one to believe they're right. but they should take a lesson from us and accept it without whining! ;)

To be fair, they're right for once. Merde, er, Merk gifted Ghana a penalty.

Besides, haven't we been whining about Raymundo for months?

Ghana outplayed the US and the Czechs and really deserved to advance. Boy, the Czechs stock really fell this tournament! People were talking about them as favorites after the US match!

Nah i'm talking about a specific type of whining that involves conspiracy theories and how fifa is out to ruin american soccer. That's just ridiculous. Sure, Merk was fooled by an awful dive, but non-existent penalties are given all the time and it sure as hell doesn't mean that fat bastard blatter is pulling the strings from above (he's too incompetent).

That said, the US team has a lot to look forward to, they've been overhyped but they're not bad. 2010 awaits..

Nice to see Juninho score a goal in the brazil game
Brazil looked like shit at the begining but now it looks like they might be out of their shell. Japanese didnt play bad either Id say even though the eventually got hammered.

their goal was completely against the run of play, it must've been 80% possession to Brazil.

I'm still not convinced that Ronaldo "is back," his movement got better but it's still lethargic IMO

from your remarks i suppose it was a joke, but since the real joke is FIFA itself, i actually believed it; i wasn't even overly surprised!

The Czechs were awful. Italy didn't play all that well (from the waist up), but the Czechs, aside from Nedved and perhaps Cech, were unwatchable. Rosicky? Hello? You there? It's easy to beat up on the weaker sides, but when it really matters, what happens?

Good to see Ghana advance. Too bad about Essien. Ghana-Brazil is going to be one hell of a R16 game.

US: overrated. They were pretty good in 2002, but this year they were dreadful. Not sure if you guys saw my rant after Italy-US (where I bashed the crap out of Italy), but the US just doesn't have the talent to go far. If not for Zaccardo's generosity, this team would be going home with 0 points. Sure, the refs screwed them over a bit, but it tends to happen to everyone eventually. In any case, the penalty call yesterday changed nothing in the grand scheme of things. Ghana would still have advanced, and unless the US would have suddently scored maybe 3 goals, they weren't going anywhere by then anyway. Better luck in 2010.

Good to see Juninho play and score a goal.

Guess that's all for now.

Yes it was a bit of humour. The rankings are so absurd they need some laughing at..... ;)

Question, how does england continue to play like garbage and still manage to pull wins out their asses??? Les bleus have looked much better than them in this cup in my opinion and yet its the english who are sitting pretty in the quarterfinals.

w/ the events of the Portugal - Holland match, I fear they might advance even further :( Talk about a team undeserving.

Yes but that is the way it goes isn't it?

I mean, if France were to win the WC (and god knows I'm not calling it) think about the run up the group stages, everything... None of it matters does it? Survive and advance, that is all any team can do I suppose.

Portugal and Holland match was a complete disaster..... I'm a bit sorry to see the Dutch knocked out of the cup.

In other news.... After today's matches.... The United States has moved to second in the Fifa rankings....:D

Yea I too am upset to see the dutch go. One of my favorite sides to cheer for when france goes down. If never seen a dutch side play so undisciplined before in my life. Horrible game. My non footballing friends loved all the ridiculousness though. They had theyre chances to score but did not capitilize. oh well.
