Thought you read kicker
Allofs said to Kicker they have no intrest anymore because he didn't say yes before WC
I don't read "kicker" religiously. I don't have time to. I guess I missed something.
And let's see what happens after the World Cup. If Metze and BvM don't patch up their differences and Metze refuses to extend with us, I don't care what Allofs said, I'll bet you he takes Watzke's phone call..........

What's the deal with Ricken?
Ever since BvM has been here, he has not been very fond of him. I get the impression Lars is not part of Bert's plans...?

They did have problems at first, but they seemed to have settled them and Lars was doing quite well until he got hurt.
I think Lars will definitely play a role in BvM's plans next season.
What role that is remains to be seen. I'm thinking Lars will back up Pienaar in central midfield and play as a winger/striker when needed.

Indeed! :)
Great news...Ricken is my fav. player out there on Dortmund.
It would've been devastating for me to see him go.

I don't think you have to worry about that. Lars Ricken is a Dortmund icon. Local boy who reached stardom at the local club.
I always thought Lars needed to leave Dortmund to reach his full potential. But now, if he stays his entire career, which I think he will, I'll be happy for him.

BTW, if "KubiNull" is still out there, we saw what you were trying to tell us about Frei at the World Cup. Another guy on our list who is a HUGE FAN of Chapuisat said he sees a lot of "Chappi" in Frei and he wanted BVB to sign Frei immediately.
Well........
It looks like Rennes did come down to BVB's price.
Take a look!!
Just posted to our BVB e-mail list by Johannes.

Frei will sign 4 years contract, fee: 4 Mio. Euros
Deal done "if nothing 'serious' happens"
Tinga will sign for 3 years and will join at the latest after the Copa Libertadores final on August 19.
Watzke is "very optimistic" the deal will happen, Kicker sources in
Brasil confirm.

Dortmund: Transfers stehen kurz vor dem Abschluss
Frei kommt für vier Jahre, Tinga für drei
Als Borussia Dortmund dem Deutschen Meister Bayern München am 13. Mai
Wochenbeginn geeinigt haben. Vier Millionen Euro soll Frei kosten;
unterschreiben.

Was about time :)
Actually ... only Frei and Valdez and Odonkor (in one game) showed potential at WC .. Ebi sucked like hell and Amoah at least tried ....
I would wonder if our new striker trio wouldn't be Frei Center .. Valdez and Odonkor on the sides

I saw him play during the Libertadores Cup.
He kinda reminds me of Edgar Davids due to his appearance and his style of play.
He's really hard-working, moves all over the pitch, and has good distribution. He's an all-around defensive mid, I would say.

I'm worried because a very good scout I know doesn't rate him very highly.
But the way you describe him, he's exactly what we need.......
I'm hoping your assessment is correct.

I agree with MetroChile from what i've seen of him he's a good alrounder and also fairly concistant with his performances

i really hope these frei rumours are true... that would be great. that price would make up for what we paid extra for valdez. both frei and valdez i thought were great at the world cup. i also feel we should convert to a 4-4-2 diamond. play odonkor on the right side of midfield with valdez and frei up top. i like a more conventional style better than the 4-3-3 we have been playing.
not sure about this tinga guy... but are we paying anything for him or is he a free transfer? im guessing bvb was not dumb enough not to persue ze roberto... but they simply were not able to convince him to stay in the bundesliga. back to tinga... i dont understand what you guys mean by saying that we need a defensive mid. we already have kehl who is very good... would they play together or is he like an allaround sub? do we plan on playing like this
---------------frei-------------
valdez------------------odonkor
----------pienaar------------
--------kehl----tinga----------
i guess that would work.... but no kringe :(
anyways sorry about the typing, this german keyboard and my timing are kicking my ass

They are from the most reliable German source. Kicker magazine.

I think management would like that too, but BvM loves that 4-3-3.
Let's see what happens.
not sure about this tinga guy... but are we paying anything for him or is he a free transfer?
Most rumors say we're paying about 3.5M.
im guessing bvb was not dumb enough not to persue ze roberto... but they simply were not able to convince him to stay in the bundesliga.
I'm thinking we didn't pursue him. But, with the World Cup Ze Roberto is having so far, many of the rich clubs are going to line up to throw money at him. I think we just can't afford him on top of the rumors saying he wants to join a non-German CL contender.
I'm hoping he goes to Man U., but wouldn't be surprised to see him go back to Real.......

We usually play Kehl as more of a sweeper type player. We need a better holding midfielder than Kringe, who is much better attacking.
I think Kringe would battle it out with Tinga for that spot and if Tinga beats him out, Kringe would back up Tinga in midfield AND Degen at right back along with starting for German Cup matches.
anyways sorry about the typing, this german keyboard and my timing are kicking my ass
I know how it is having to type with a German keyboard when you're used to the old QWERTY keyboard. ;)

Are you pulling our leg or being serious? I just found out about Kicker Magazine website. It is my only all Bundesliga/Germany footie website; until Bundesliga's official website gets a clue and offers other language versions.

I'm dead serious. And, the Bundesliga's offical website did offer an English-language version when it first started.
They stopped after a couple of seasons though. Said something about not getting enough hits.
