And we would have gotten less than half of what we did for him when he departed the next season..........

Dude, Tomas Rosicky did not want to be in Dortmund anymore. He'd wanted to leave for almost three years, but Dortmund refused to sell him.

Now, we had to sell him to get the most amount of money we could for him because Tomas Rosicky's transfer fee was part of our original financial recovery plan for the club.

One way or the other, he was leaving this offseson.

It wasn't as simple as "Well, in that case, we would have retained his services, wouldn't we?".

Trust me. Quite a few of us here know what we're talking about when it comes to this situation.........

well i did explain i din't realise but this is obviously not good enough for you so sorry again.

According to the stadium's website, it's 81,264.

I thought it was 85,000, but I guess that's what I get for assuming.

That is the right number. Before last season it was about 83.000 (of course including terraces), but they had to cut some places because the new media section is somewhat bigger and the new luxury seats are somewhat bigger too.

For international matches it is about 66.000 seats.

Thanks! I can understand all that!!

And I'm sorry you won't be in Munich for the match this Sunday! We have to meet at the Westfalenstadion this coming season!!!

OK. Let's get this back to a transfer thread. I think we might be wasting too much time trying to get Frei.

One of the best young strikers in the Bundesliga, Bayern's Paolo Guerrero was just sold to HSV.

I am wondering if there's any way we could have signed Guerrero, as while Bayern and HSV didn't disclose the transfer fee, I'm willing to bet it was in the 4M Euro range.

I'm pretty sure HSV weren't in a hurry to give Bayern back a lot of that van BUYten (Boy, with a name like that, he went to the right team!) money.

So I ask you guys, do we give up on Frei and pursue someone else or what?

BTW, here's what I thought about "our guys" in the France v. Switzerland matchup......

+++++++++++++++++++

On Switzerland, I loved their effort, but it seemed BVB's Philipp Degen is actually their best "playmaker". Does anyone know the extent of Degen's injury?? He was hobbling pretty noticably for the last part of that match.

I think if the Swiss had a dangerous player in central midfield, they would hurt some people.

I was also impressed with Arsenal's Philippe Sendros in the Swiss defense. That kid is going to be a monster in central defense. It's scary that he's really still just developing.

On Alexander Frei. I see why BVB management wants him. Good movement, a nose for the ball and seems to cause problems for a defense, but he still didn't strike me to be worth all the money Rennes is asking. I'd like to see Frei in Dortmund, but on our terms.

If not, I'd be perfectly happy if we made FCK an offer for Sanogo. I know FCK will eventually come down off their ridiculous asking price for Sanogo. I'm not sure Rennes will for Frei.

As far as Sanogo and Frei, I didn't see that much of a difference between the two. As a matter of fact, I think Sanogo is both taller and faster, but Frei is better with the ball.

Those are the two I'd be happy with right now.

Unless BVB can offer Man U. a share of the Westfalenstadion for RvN! LOL!!!! :D

To Degen, I think he was just suffering thru cramp.

Maybe FC Bayern is freeing up money to buy Podolski?

I guess HSV only let van Buyten go when in addition to about 10 Mio Euro they get Bayern's young striker. I guess they paid small money only.

Not a bad piece of business on the part of HSV. Between Vincent Kompany and Paolo Guerrero they've made two useful signings secured for not a great deal more than the cash that was raised by the sale of Van Buyten. Good for the Bundesliga.

But why would BayScum sell Guerrero to one of their closest rivals if it wasn't to get some of that van BUYten money back??

I guess they really believe Guerrero won't do them any harm in Hamburg or they are loading up for a bid on RvN.

I've been hearing rumblings that they are also going to sell Lucio for big money........

That's enough. This is quickly turning into the BayScum transfer board. I only brought up the Guerrero transfer to HSV because I wanted to ask if I am the only one who thinks BVB might be screwing up by being too patient on the Frei deal.

However, a kicker story from earlier this week says Zorc has told Rennes to take Borussia's offer or leave it.

I guess we won't be getting Frei.......
