i thought you guys had a new sponsor deal, and that the new sponsor was supposed to be ready for your kits after the winter break... what happened to that? did that fall through, and if so are their any other possible sponsors stepping up to the table as a possibility?

No. We have the same sponsor. The most common story I've heard was they (RAG) were supposed to go through a corporate re-structuring and replace that hideous logo with the new company's logo. Something went wrong with the restructuring and as a result, we wore that hideous logo all season.

And I would not be surprised if we start next season with the same hideous logo.......

I'm not saying "he sucks" or anything like that because I don't know anything about the kid. But if he's that good, how did we get him for a pittance???

As a rule of thumb, you're right in that if someone comes at a pittance, he can't be all that great.

However, it's quite common for high quality players to "fall under the radar" of richer clubs. Even the richest clubs have limited scouting resources, and the media will only spotlight the brightest of prospects. Add to that the fact that Poland is not a glamor spot for gleaming talent (like Brazil, Argentina, France, Holland are), and you have the very real possibility of getting a diamond in the rough, for cheap.

So we'll see how "Kuba" pans out. But there's no real reason to be pessimistic, simply because he came for a "pittance". Unless, of course, that makes you feel safer (won't feel too disappointed if Kuba bombs). ;)

LMFAO... so let me get this straight. you have a shirt sponsor, who pays BVB to be their shirt sponsor, but because of the restructuring of this company... there is a crappy yellow card logo?

or are they still a sponsor, just that they don't pay as much to be a shirt sponsor until they figure out a logo? hows this work, if you know

They are still the sponsor, that spot on the shirt is theirs. They pay for that exclamation point to be there until they get a new company logo.

Even if they get a new company logo, if they decide they want that hideous symbol to remain, that's what stays there. It is RAG's choice, not Borussia Dortmund's.

What are you talking about "yellow card logo?" That thing has nothing to do with a "yellow card...."

Is he actually on trial or are Celtic just interested? It was reported here that there is interest, but nothing on any "trial."

He's still under contract to Borussia Moenchengladbach and he is definitely the better Degen.

Dude, I say what I say because BVB hypes these players to no end and when they get on the pitch, they are nowhere near as good as the club hyped them up to be.

If you f#cking let the club tell it, Nuri Sahin was going to be the goddamned next Maradona and Pienaar was going to bring a new dimension to our attack.

I won't go into the shit they talked about Sebastian Tyrala and Abdenour Amachaibou before the season.

Who??

EXACTLY!!!

This is about not believing what BVB management has to say anymore.

This also has nothing to do with "preventing disappointment." Some of you might do that shit, but I don't.

As far as my "why did we get him for a pittance?" comment, it's just something I'm wondering, not any kind of freakin' rule or the reason I'm SKEPTICAL, not F#CKING PESSIMISTIC!

As far as the guys on the boards? Too many over-hype guys they are fans of. You should know that yourself.

I take what they have to say into consideration, but I choose to wait and see for myself.

If this kid was as good as these guys say he is and from a club like Wisla Krakow, he's not sneaking under anyone's f#cking radar.....

I'm not saying he isn't good. I don't f#cking know. But there are reasons to have my doubts.

This s#itty f#cking management team at BVB isn't capable of beating anyone to a great talent. Hence, my skepticism. Not f#cking pessimism.

What is it actually?
When I watched the Schalke game with my dad last week we noticed for the first time they we didn't have a clue about Borussia's sponsor and couldn't figure out what the logo was supposed to mean and also seddled on a yellow card. lol

It's some kind of horrid yellow exclamation point on a green background done by a Westfalen artist named Ottmar Alt.

RAG has even paid for giant replicas of them outside the Nordtribune.

That's another reason I fear they aren't going anywhere.

there there ....

now go have a beer or 10 :p

you have an acute case of BVB angst!

But it does seem that b!tching about BVB's incompetent management has a cathartic effect.

So b!tch away ...

then go down a six-pack ;)

the focking yellow card is the top part of the exclamation point, a soccer ball is the lower part of the exclamation point... so what are you talking about?!?!?

he's 21 years old, its not like he's been around forever... he has been very promising the past couple of years, and this past season he has stepped up big time for Wisla Krakow and the Polish NT... he's under the radar because the WC was non-existant for him

Dude, that is not a yellow card. It is simply the top of the exclamation point. It does look like a yellow card, but that's not what it is.

Dude. I am not saying he cannot be good or he isn't good. However, if you know BVB management like I know BVB management, it is hard to believe they beat anyone to any real talent.

That is the basis of my skepticism. I am not saying the kid is going to come in here and suck. No way. I hope he blows us all away.

I hope BVB is just a stepping-stone to bigger and better things for him.

But I have very good reasons to be skeptical whether you want to acknowledge them or not.

Cool. I saw an article at Sky after your post. The major German media outlets only said they were interested, not that he'd been given a trial. But, I will say that I hoped BVB would try to pick him up as a backup player.

He is definitely better than his brother.

A month or so ago, I remember reading somewhere that Weidenfeller would leave us. If so, would Pirson just step up or has anyone heard about a Gk who would come in? Since Hildebrand might leave for Valencia, Stuttgart might consider signing Weidenfeller (this is based on nothing more than my personal speculation, though the part about Weidenfeller leaving I heard a few weeks ago).

Stuttgart have already bought Raphael Schaefer of FC Nurnberg.

And Weidenfeller confirmed he is staying about the time Doll took over. That's why there's been no more speculation here about it.

would dortmund sell frei?

the reason i'm asking is there is a rumour in glasgow that celtic have enquired about frei and have been told they'd have to pay in the region of £5.5mill. celtic have apparently agreed to this.

does this sound feasible or should i dismiss it as rubbish..? i'm not sure how much dortmund signed frei for when they got him from rennes.

also mentioned was makaay but that's for another board..
