Wow I seem to be the new topic of discussion on here.
Yes, that is correct: my name is BSchweini and I do not support Bayern.
BTW man, I think you and I are the only ones around here who dig BVB and 1. FCN. :D
I know, I realized that too. I lived in Nuernberg when "Der Club" was in Regionalliga - been in love ever since. Actually, I also like ManU in England - not too big on Barca though. I'm more of a Valencia-type of guy.
Ok, now back to business.
Watzke said they are looking to sign 3 new players in the next 2-3 weeks. He also took Ze Roberto out of the picture bc he has 2 bigger offers.
They need a replacement for Metzelder. Also, I still think they need a tall striker. I don't think they can afford another season like this from Valdez. I'm afraid he will be the new 1st guy off the bench if they get a tall striker. Diego Klimowicz from Wolfsburg has my vote - if he is at all affordable. Other than that, do everything to get Koller back - let his wife stay in Monaco and buy him a BahnCard...

I was surprised by that, but I didn't care enough to ask. Don't care about that player or Bayern that much! LOL!!

I was living in Erlangen during that time.

Oh well, we've got three! LOL!

We never had a shot at Ze Roberto anyhow. That's just Watzke talking shit as he always does.
They need a replacement for Metzelder.
I don't think so. I'd be perfectly OK going into next season with Woerns, Brzenska and Amedick as our central defenders. I'm also all for finally giving Uwe Hünemeier a shot at making the big team.
Central defense is one position on this team I'm not worried about. As a matter of fact, nothing against him personally, but I wouldn't care if Doll didn't play Metzelder again the entire season.
I think Amedick is almost as good and Brzenska seems to work better with Woerns......

I think a "taller" striker is on the agenda. I like Klimowicz too, but I do have to say I also think he's too inconsistent, too injury-prone and too expensive too.
Other than that, do everything to get Koller back - let his wife stay in Monaco and buy him a BahnCard...
Forget it. Not only can we not pay him what he wants, IMHO, Koller is done.
Plus, I feel one of the things that led to our downfall in the first place was that our offense became too damned dependent on Koller. We lost sight of other aspects of our game and in my opinon, we've still never gotten them back.
In my opinion, Koller can just keep collecting his big checks in France. He's got the right to do that. It's time for us to move on, not move back.

I agree with you on Huenemeier. I remember when he got his chance in the game against Bayern. I would like to see him get some more playing time.
Klimowicz would be a little over the budget, but I just don't see anybody that would fit our budget in the Bundesliga right now. I don't live in Germany so I don't get to follow 2. Bundesliga at all, perhaps they could find a 2nd player after Frederico from there.
The other option I had in mind was young Vedad Ibisevic from Aachen. I've his play in college in the US, PSG, Dijon, and now at Alemannia. The boy seems to always be in the right place at the right time. He gets alot of rebound goals. His height is not bad either (6'1'' - 6'2''). If they go down he'd be a no risk pickup - if they stay up he might cost a little bit.
Any news on the South African from Bielefeld. He was supposed to come with von Heesen but since he's not coming is there still any interest?

Zuma? I think he's staying at Bielefeld.
Ibisevic offers really nothing IMHO other than the rebound goals that you refer too. I also think that since he arrived in Aachen this year, that regardless of where they're playing next year, that he will cost a bit much. They're also losing Schlaudraff this year.
I think that Federico can solve BvB's scoring problems next year.

He's got a bit of an injury right now. Other than that, I don't know why we haven't seen more of him this season. He apparently had BvM's confidence.

Klimowicz would be a lot over budget and as stated, he's too inconsistent and too injury-prone to be worth the money Wolfsburg would be asking (around 4M). I think after this Valdez disaster (No, not the EXXON ship in Alaska! LOL! :D), they will be hesitant to knowingly over-pay for a striker again.
The only other striker I like in the 2. Liga wouldn't be able to help us right away. At least I don't think so. That's former Bayern amateur player Stefan Maierhoffer at TuS Koblenz. He's still learning the game, but has large potential. He's also as tall as Koller is.
Bad side? Also has a bit of an ego too.

I like Ibisevic myself. I like his instincts too. Plus, we could play him in the starting lineup or as a bench player. I'm hoping they are looking at him.

Zuma. I don't think we need a guy like him unless he's going to replace Amoah on the bench. He would just be another midget in our already "too short" strike force.....

I think that depends on what happens with them and who comes for him......

Ibisevic won't cost that much if Aachen are relegated. Plus, if BVB were to get him, the one thing we need from him is HEIGHT!
Not to mention, that he'd be the second best pure striker on the roster.
I think Ibisevic would be a good pickup for us.
That is, if we survive.....
I think that Federico can solve BvB's scoring problems next year.
I wouldn't be too sure about that. We're still missing one big piece Federico has at KSC.
A decent playmaker........
And just because a guy scores big in the 2. Liga, it doesn't mean he'll repeat the feat in the 1. Liga. That's for sure.

I'm just not sure if you can get Ibisevic for cheap since Schlaudraff is gone. I think that their attacking options are poor to begin with.

well...i'm sure i will get some sort of backlash for this, but just look how Podolski did in Bundesliga 2 and how he lit up the scoring charts, but then when he came to an even better club in Bundesliga 1 it dropped off, for several reasons of course, but none the less it dropped off

Dude. You think they aren't going to get anyone to replace Schlaudraff?? :)
Yeah, I do see where you're coming from. And when I say "cheap", I don't mean "bargain basement".
When I say "cheap", I mean "cheaper" than guys like Klimowicz.
Sorry for not being clearer.

Well, I think that has to do with the pressure of playing for FC Bayern more than anything else. Poldi just wasn't ready for that kind of pressure. Plus, don't forget the time Magath had him on the bench too.
If this Sosa guy is all he's cracked up to be, I'll bet Poldi leads the 1. BL in goal-scoring next season.......
Which I hope will have nothing to do with BVB as he won't score in the two matches against us! LOL!! ;)

Rebound goals count the same as any other goals-the main thing is that he gets them consistently. So far we have forwards who mostly try to hold the ball and dribble. We need a guy with a decent shot, good height, and who's at the right place more times then not to convert the rebounds. I still think Ibisevic has great potential to get better. Not many players have scored as consistently as he has in the 2nd half of the season at his age.
I doubt Federico will play as a forward. Somehow I see him more at a midfield spot. Unless we get another forward it will be up to Frei again next season.

Federico will play his normal attacking midfield spot. BVB is looking for another striker.

I know what Federico can do. Question is, can he do it in the 1. Liga in the stadium he grew up watching the club he admired as a boy?
I want to see what Kuba can do for myself. BVB has hyped up new signing after new signing in the past three or four years and except for Smolarek (overall) and Frei, they've been disappointments.
