Today's "Kicker" says that Polish international midfielder Jakub Blaszczykowski is almost certain to join BVB for next season. They speculate that BVB will pay Wisla Krakow 3M Euro for the 21 year old, who is expected to add a speed element to the BVB midfield.

That's great, but I take it he's going to put Kringe on the bench?

I don't really care if Kringe goes to the bench as long as Blaszczykowski is better. However, some other BVB fans might not like it.

The same column says a Russian club called Rubin Karzan wants Smolarek before the transfer window closes, but BVB management opened the negotiations at 5M Euros.

I know you have to ask for more than you think you can really get, but damn! The BVB management must think the Russians are as stupid as Real Betis!! LOL!! :D

I think I'd rather have Kringe. Jakub has a bit more pace, but not much else IMHO.

KC on the e-mail list set me straight on that one. He thinks Pienaar would be the one to be moved out if Blaszczykowski is acquired.

BTW, how would you pronounce his last name??

BLAS-A-CHOW-SKI or something like that??

I'm not trying to be funny or anything. I really would like to know how to pronounce his name.

I'm actually proud of how quickly I learned to spell "van Marwijk"........ :)

I am not Polish but I would pronounce it more like:

BLUSH-CHEE-KOV-SKEE

If he really joins us, he would take over the right midfield or play behind the strikers. From all I've heard he his more coming from the right or half-right position. He has a fine speed and technique and his assist rate seems solid.

It's BWASH-CHICK-OFSKEE

The "l" has a slanted line going through it so it's pronounced like an English "w"

Polish "y" should never be pronounced "ee". The correct pronunciation is like the "i" in the English words "chick", "pick", "mitt".

As for Jakub moving to BVB, I'm not really keen on the idea while Roeder is at the helm...

Rober won't be at the helm next season. Thomas von Heesen will be.

Thanks for the pronounciation help!!

LOL!!

Don't think that will happen. I don't think Ebi is too keen on being an actor yet.......

My internet browser here at work must have a bullshit sensor. It won't go to tribalfootball.com! LOL!! :D

If that was the Pandev story, I think it is not credible at all.

We do need a striker for cover while Smolarek is injured, but I don't think that guy would be it.......

Some sources still just throw "Borussia Dortmund" into a story when they need to beef up the interest. There are several clubs like that.

Of course, I could be wrong too, but if BVB are looking at this guy, it's the best kept secret they've ever had.

Erm no it was this one.

"Juventus have tabled a pre-contract offer to Borussia Dortmund defender Christophe Metzelder.
Only last week, Juve director general Alessio Secco confirmed their interest in the Germany international, who is expected to quit the Bundesliga in the summer.

Tuttosport says Juve have made an irresistible offer to Metzelder's representatives of a four-year contract worth £7 million in total. "

Entirely possible. It's well-known that Juve are interested and BVB don't seem to be trying hard enough to keep him.

Part of my "Watzke Conspiracy Theories" I've been sending out here.

oh man would you guys be happy with this kid...he is the next big thing to come out of Poland, and i think he'd do a lot better for you guys than Smolarek, he is a better finisher too...if you guys have decent kits next year with an actual sponsor on it i would even consider buying a kit with his name and number on it!!!

Yeah. We discussed him not long ago. Sky seems to have taken that story from this morning's "kicker".

Only "kicker" reports the numbers being bounced around at a 2.5M BVB offer and Wisla wanting 3.5M.

If you judge the situation by our recent past, how much we pay will be based on how much Watzke himself wants the player.

Watzke didn't seem to care so much about Frei and haggled until the end, but bent over quickly and give Bremen what they wanted for this piece of shit Valdez.

I hear from others that this kid will be spark to our offense and that's fine. But forgive me for saying I'll believe it when I see it.

It is nothing against you guys or this kid. It is just that BVB lies so much about our young players and new signings.

They talk so much shit, that if any of it were true, BVB would be pushing the top teams and barely avoiding sliding into the relegation battle.......

i think sliding into the relegation is a little of a stretch...but then again we will have to see how the next few weeks goes

i definitely understand where you stand with your reluctancy to accept something, considering several players that have been brought in, in the past have turned out to be major disappointments for you...so for you to doubt Jakub it will be understandable, but just because Smolarek sucked for you guys doesn't mean Jakub will

and i'm not surprised that Wisla is playing the high ball, low ball game because they always try this because we know we can not afford our best players in the end...because almost all other leagues have more money than us :( but its a fact that i've already so its no surprise

ALSO, even thought Dortmund are willing to buy for 2.5 million, and Wisla are willing to sell for 3.5 or 4...at the end of the day Wisla could easily sell him for 2.5 or 3 million, i'm not saying expect a deal, but don't be surprised if you guys get what u want for your price...i hope Wisla does sell him to Dortmund because then I could watch him on a regular basis next year if he turns out to be something for u guys...in addition Dortmund seems to have the potential to battle for a top 5 spot every year, its just they seem to underperform and fall apart...so maybe next year is the year you guys actually start getting things done and have some success  because then Dortmund gets to play international football again and he gets to play in europe...im not saying he will take you guys to success, but you guys have the pieces already, he can help contribute

me personally, i'd much rather him play for Dortmund than a club willing to pay for his services in Turkey, or some Italian club (i hate focking Serie A), or some of the other places he has been connected with
