The image from the camera in the booth was really fuzzy...in HD, but not a good picture. Everything else looked fine.

I'm wetting myself with anticipation, and I thank ABC/ESPN for the lengths they've gone in coverage, but I'd really like to see the teams walk out and hear the anthems...oh well, I know that they'd always choose money from commercials during that time during coverage that isn't game action.

Moment of silence for some reason, but O'Brien kept talking and didn't say why.

Arrrghhh....hate the score strip across the top. And the ticker across the bottom. Really compresses the height. Feels like you're in an obstructed view seat at a stadium...

Pic quality is good...

I going out of my mind here where's the HD feed from ESPN HD or ESPN2 . I have TWDC here in NY. I have ESPN HD but they have Baseball on now.

It's framed for 4:3.

that's what it is, too cheap to come up with separate graphics for hd. in fact the main camera angle looks like it's hd but compressed. so do the extra large graphics.

the picture quality on univision is twice as good as espn2. i don't have hd, but univision looks damn good. balboa is... well, sigh, he's balboa.

On my system, ESPN2 comes in clearer than Univision.

And the camera did not flatter Foudy -- is she preggers, had too many Dunkin Donuts, or was she given a poorly-fitted blazer?

I didn't like that they had the sports ticker on the screen for the whole half. They should just have one update in the half.

The sports ticker is extremely annoying. Can't they have an update every 30 minutes or something?

My thoughts: HD quality during the game was very good (though I guess that's from the host source, and not ESPN). I don't mind the score strip along the top, and I'm sorry to see that Univision doesn't have the spaceship dropping the bomb on the score when a goal is scored.

Also with the shost source--the action doesn't seemed to be mic'd all that well. It's almost like the opposite of the Premiership sound, where you seem to hear every kick. But a big goal kick in the game so far, and you don't hear anything. Oh well, small issues...

switch to Univision, folks!

No kidding. I guess we really need a big popup graphic to tell us that its Klose's birthday (with his picture) right over the action.

Yeah, it is. Even on the big plasma in my office lobby vs. the smaller one in the law office across the hall, it's obvious. Seems to be less so on the other cameras, but the main one isn't very clear at all.

I love that moment, too. It is kind of the calm before the storm... ESPN really knows how to make a good soccer game look boring. Oh! well.
