According to some insiders, ESPN2 HD will be available on Comcast systems that have the available bandwidth, right before the World Cup kicks off. This is terrific news.

I HOPE this is true. I looked last night while I was setting up my DVR recordings for the Friday games and didn't see it. Haven't received any messages from them either. I will gladly change my recordings if they do this. PLEASE COMCAST!!!!!!!

Yes, I am looking at the AVS forums and some areas are reporting that espn2HD is live. It definitely looks live somethings is going on.

Does anybody know if the World Cup Live shows will be in HD?

The rumor is that The Mouse and Comcast signed a carriage deal yesterday, and that it would be turned on tomorrow (Friday 6/9) on those systems that have the bandwidth to carry another HD channel. But those people who are seeing espn2HD show up on their screens so far are seeing it disappear just as quickly.

As with all things Comcast, I wouldn't count on it by Monday. Comcast North Jersey, where I am, is notoriously slow on the uptake for things like this.

The first ESPN2 HD World Cup programing is tonight at Midnight ET/9pm PT, with the World Cup Live show.

Sounds like quite a few areas are establishing the feed today. It would be quite a mobilization if it's up in time everywhere for tomorrow's opening match.

If you don't have at least 750 Mhz of total bandwidth in your area, however, don't count on ESPN2 HD showing up on your Comcast system.

The last time I talked to someone at Comcast New England, they said they had the bandwidth to add ESPN2 HD, they just didn't have a carriage agreement.

Now they do. I'd say the odds are pretty good.

Nothing in Michigan yet, but there is a spot as ESPN HD is 202 and TNTHD is 204. I'm hoping for 203 to be ESPN2HD :)

ESPN2 just showed up tonight in my High Definition channel list. Looks like they did this just before the World Cup for all of us.

I've been VERY criticle of Comcast in the past, but this is a GREAT job by them. I'm so excited that I'm going to get to see all these games in HD. I know a lot of other people have Comcast here. I'm in the Kansas City area, but I'd guess that all Comcast subscribers are going to get ESPN2HD.

BRILLIANT.

I can't belive it!!!! We got it too in the Washington DC area. I sent them a letter a couple months ago and they wrote me back saying they would not have it. I guess enough people complained to make them change their minds. By the way, thanks bro for starting this thread. I would not have checked if I didnt see this.
