Yeah, it is rather annoying that they are the size of a small area rug. But a neck pouch or money belt should do the trick. You should probably have one for money and passport anyway, so...

Yea, I bought a really thin, light-weight money belt for tickets, passport, Euros, etc.

Are you sure about that? I though backpacks were allowed.

Whatever, I'm probably going the money belt route, anyway.

I have a large, clear plastic pouch I'm putting mine in. I made a neck strap out of some string, so I can wear it and show everyone I'm going to the World Cup!

Is there a drug mule message board out there somewhere? They would know how to carry expensive things safely.

I was going to go with the little plastic things they sent with the tickets. Put it around my neck, and never take it off.

I though about that too. Then I though about what an idiot I'd look like (I mean more so than usual, of course).

you can fold it, just as long as you don't fold the bit at the end with the credit card sized chip in it (hold it up to the light if you don't know what I mean).

Other than that, the ticket is just normal cardboard and it won't matter a jot if it gets folded.

HEY! C'mon. FIFA was nice enough to provide us clear plastic pouches and a nifty piece of string for just such an occasion. You can at least be a bit grateful.

Well, I got mine through USSF and they failed to provide me with such a contraption - cheap bastards!

What are you gonna do with your other tickets?

hotel safe?
leave in suitcase?
carry on your person at all times and sleep with one eye open?

sleep with one eye open?

Well this has been my practice for years now...

...ever since that run in with Chuck Norris.

I've been thinking about the same thing and have decided to just keep them in my waist pouch at all times -- especially since I'm, in charge of the TST voucher as well.

Put it in a zip-lock bag. Use duct tape to tape to body.

Put it in a zip-lock bag. Insert in rectum. Use duct tape to secure bunghole.

Fixed your post. Much more 'secure' that way. ;) :D

The hostels I have stayed at had safes for the guests to use with the reception desk, and that is where I kept my tickets. I didn't consider my dormlike room of 8 people without a lock a safe place in Berlin.

Seriously, I would not count on those things. I received three shipments of tickets from FIFA for resale tickets, each including one lanyard (or whatever they are called). One of them broke almost as soon as I touched it.
