Okay, so basically we just got a player who doesn't know much English. What are some thing that I need to know to be able to communicate with him. I know "aqui" will be useful, but what else will I need to know?

I will give you the more relevant terms...I taught them to a Polish friend who is pretty proficient in Spanish, but did not have the soccer terminology down.
-Rompe/corta/revienta/rechaza: clear, or get it out
-Arquero: keeper!
-Al piso: slide
-Segunda pelota: 2nd ball
-Que no bote: let it bounce
-Solo: by yourself
-Al arco: on goal (meaning have a shot, basically)
-Segundo palo: far post
-Primer palo: near post
-Cierralo: close him down

Hope that helps

Metro, don't stop there. I play on a Chilean team and I'm the only English speaking player on the team with not much Spanish. The thing I hear most often is solo and bueno.

If you could help me here. I need help with these phrases:
You have support (I'm open behind you)
I'm open on the left
I'm open on the right
You have time (I guess solo works here)

Any other common phrases to be used in a game would be great.

From my experience watching fútbol on telemundo (god i love that network), Corner is "tiro de esquina"

I mostly hear "a la derecha," (to the right) "a la izquierda," (to the left "crúza(lo)" (cross [it]), "detrás" (behind) "a delante" (ahead) and "envíame" (send me) when I play hispanic teams.

Good luck.

What the heck does 'gue' mean on the end of something? That's all I hear. All of us gringoes on our team joke about it with them.

"HERE GUE! PASS IT HERE GUE!" or something like that. And they just seem to accept it. Does it mean 'do', or something? I can't speak spanish.

I used to play with some hispanic guys. I didn't really speak Spanish. I mainly justed used aqui (here), dame (give me), and mandalo (send it). You can also use alla (there) or pelota (ball). We never really had any problems. Soccer is a universal languange.
