I heard on the blog "offsides rules" blog that Ian Joy has left the team. It looks like there are plenty of yanks in their history.

He didn't retire, he transferred to Real Salt Lake of MLS.

Ok, maybe I understand after years wanting a move to the US & MLS is the only game around, but still....RSL?!

That's awesome. Reading the articles about him and what St. Pauli fans wrote about him in the German St Pauli message board I got the impression that he is quite the remarkable person.

Yeah, I've got no explanation on that, other than he figured it was a cheap place to live, and the coach was young.

I met him once after a Pauli game and he really is a remarkable person, upstanding it would seem and somebody I am pulling for to do well in MLS.

Congratulation on an good performance against Fürth! From what I've just read (unfortunately I didn't manage to make the Hamburg trip and didn't even see any match scenes), your guys deserved to win the game.

However, it seems that you simply can't win against Greuther Fürth! ;)
Hence, it's time for your guys to get 3 points again ... since it surely will be tough to keep the league by reaching only draws.
Good night.
