I have to agree with the others that have replied to this. Building a stadium and/or gaining more supporters does not necessarily mean a club is "selling out." If they were doing things contrary to their usual ways JUST to try and get more supporters, then i'd agree. But it seems that St Pauli and it's fans are holding true to their ideals...and more people are recognizing their left-leaning ways and they appreciate this. And they do have to keep themselves solvent to remain relevant......

Should be an exciting top game in Fürth tomorrow (although Pauli never managed to get a win at Playmobil stadium). Hope for a great atmosphere and for many St. Pauli fans in the away section!

So excited to see them up in the 2.Bundesliga this season and doing fairly well. I used to go to matches at the Millerntor starting in 1986 when I lived up that way and we had our little black blocks in the stands. I've followed the team since then, but it was always hard to get news except from German friends.

I was there last summer for the first time in years during the WC. So much had changed in Hamburg, but the stadium really hadn't, although I guess now it's changing too. so, mostly just wanted to pop in and say howdy!

What a shocking end for the 2.500 St. Pauli fans (many of them from Franconia) and their team in Fürth on Sunday, I felt really sorry for them! To lose a game this way in spite of such a good performance (especially before the interval), is very cruel! :( I think the guys from Millerntor didn't deserve that.

However, that's football. I remember a game from Fürth in Karlsruhe 2 years ago, when the SpVgg fans suffered exactly the same fate (lethal defender mistake in the last minute of injury time)...

Kopf hoch, St. Pauli! I bet you'll keep the league with this team in the end!
