Hey, since most of the games happen during the work day, I was curious if anyone knows any legal and/or pay sites providing live audio or video for the games. I'm willing to pay a decent amount if I can find something like that.

Thanks,
DaHokieBird

Bump. Anyone? I travel for my job, and will miss long stretches. It would be nice to find a site with archived games. I don't care if it's legal.

i have read the BBC will deliver all the games they are showing live - England or not - with an online feed concurrent with their broadcast. I assume it is free. Also, www.globoesporte.com is a Brazilian site that I have read will show every game live through an online Webcast - they charge a fee but it was something like $15 USD for the entire tourney.

I've been doing some research on this too, so I'm glad someone else asked. I've found several sites, but most want a one time fee of anywhere from $15 to $40. I don't know how reputable most so I was hoping some here would know more about them.

Here's what I've found:

n ESPN 360. ESPN offers live streams of most, if not all, their content, if I understand this correctly. But only certain Internet providers carry this service. Just go to ESPN.com and click on the 360 link at the top. I'm sure there's a fee, but it doesn't say anywhere that I could.

n BBC, as noted above, though I've read articles relating to a concern that the site may crash from all the activity.

n http://onlinesoccertv.com/ -- I'm not sure how reputable this company is, but they offer the abilty to watch hundreds of channels online, including some showing the World Cup.

n neeptv.com -- also, I don't know how reputable they are.

n inklineglobal.com -- same questions

n www.inet-tv.us -- same

n http://www.istreamed.co.uk/bandsports.html -- this site has a live stream of a Brazil's sports channel (as well as two adult channels). It's free and works and claims to be showing the world cup.

n http://www.footy-live.com/ -- looks like a subscription

That looks to be about it. Hope others have some feedback or other sites.

Thanks! This is great info! Does anyone know Portuguese well enough to guide me in how to sign up and watch the games on the Globo site? The help would be immensely appreciated!

The most recent place I found out about is www.freefootball.org, which is a forum where others gather links of games being streamed live and free from around the world. A lot of the links are coming out of China. You would need to download a PPL or something similar, but it looks like all the games will be free this way.

Thanks, Jay! I'm hoping for something where I wouldn't have to install any additional software - I travel with my corporate laptop. Seems like that will be tough.

For those of us who can not watch the games live and have to be at work, does anybody have any internet links of where I can catch a broadcast via the internet? I have some links from Euro 04 that were useful, but was wondering if somebody had some updated links.

...to people connecting from Brazil only. and you have to sign up with the Globo.com ISP.

Globo Internacional (Dish Network) will show all the matches in the United States.

if your broadband provider supports www.espn360.com then you're in business!
