well, i did a long post on the french language thread, because when i'm getting melancholy, that's how my mind works.
what a disaster. instead of an easy tuneup match, france wallowed in inefficiency. even the work of those who played well was wasted. zidane was better than recently, but not as good as hoped, a linear progression but not a logarithmic one. and his work was only interesting when he was on the left, for a few minutes in the first half, and at the end after ribéry came in.
as many here have pointed out, the right is a desert in front of sagnol; henry and zidane moved over to rectify that, but since sagnol was having an "off night" (actually woeful) , it remained sterile even then.
viera, and more surprisingly maka, were nonexistant. if france can't deprive the danes or the chinese of the ball in the middle, what's it going to be like against a team with real technique?
