Not only did I get my US jersey signed by 19 players, but I picked up a copy of SI at the airport and then got it signed by the 4 players on the cover. We also got the ESPN magazine signed on the inside. The ride to Newark Airport was definetly worth it. Here is a photo of the signed cover:

You're a lucky man.
SI only has 1 soccer cover every 4 years :)

speaking of which...what does it take oe what would it take besides a World Cup for soccer to make the cover of SI?
I would guess that if David Beckham came to play in the US he would be a cover...no?
Other than that I imagine just a good World Cup may earn them another cover...or some sort of breakthru year in MLS where attendence hits record levels...

If you ask me, this piece of memobrabilia is more valuable than the signed shirt. Congrats.

really? Why would you think a $5 magazine with 4 sigs is worth more than a $100 jersey with 19 sigs? Not that Im ever gonna sell either.

When I wrote "value," I was thinking more of sentimental value. Fifty years from now somebody will read that magazine and wonder what it must have been like to be a US soccer fan/player during the 2006 WC. The contents of that magazine will shed some light. The amount of coverage, the author's take on the USMNT/others... the overall importance given to the world cup.

If I were you, I'd find either a good acid-free box to store that mag in (and rarely take it out) or find a way to get it framed.
Either way, that could turn out to be a significant piece of sports memorabilia. Take good care of it.
Lucky bastard! :D
