Brazil has a nightly news show on Globo TV (the worlds 4th largest Network) which is viewed by about 30-40 million viewers every night. Last night th US arrival was mentioned in the opening and then in a piece a couple of minutes long. I would love to capture it, but am having PC issues. The reporter said it was peculiar that a choir was singing "We are the champions" at their arrival.

That's odd, on Studio 90, I didn't hear "We Are the Champions" but I did hear the chorus singing "That's What Friends Are For." Unless the chorus gave a concert with a few different songs, I think the Brazilian Press got it wrong.

I heard "That's What Friends Are For" on the studio 90 link at ussoccer.com. Maybe the choral group sang a medly of tunes. My guess is every team arriving in Germany will get serenaded like this--nice touch to welcome the world to your home country :).

A piece I read somewhere on another thread said the chorus sang "we are the champions" "you'll never walk alone" and a few other tunes. Sounds like a regular concert, alright. I bet they were wishing they'd had SoccerScout and wife there instead....

Thats funny...Donovan and Reyna actually asked me if I was going...I told them that I was originally thinking about it but that would get in the way of watching all 64 games comfortably in HD...
