Crown and Thistle in my town...

Basically just your typical British pub. I had fish and chips.

If you're ever in Jacksonville, NC (highly unlikely) then go to Helga's. It's a small, unassuming place but has great soul/country cooking. I had the Chicken fried steak, mash potatoes and mac n cheese for lunch and the leftovers for dinner.

Will pass through Jacksonville on the way to Emerald Isle this July. Thanks for the tip.

Just ate at Cottage Inn, in Ann Arbor. Deep dish price buster (IIRC, 47 meats, 12 kinds of olives, 3 pounds of onions...) good pizza

Cyprus Taverna (or Taverna Cyprus) in Greektown, Detroit. Pretty good lamb, but way more expensive than I needed it to be. Also hit Fishbone, just around the corner, in Trapper's Alley, but just for a beer and a look at the Red Wings game (beat Ottawa 6-2, but got outshot by a 2-1 ratio--can't keep doing that guys). The menu looked good and the food smelled great (it's Cajun) but one of the guys I was with was set on Greek. Oh well.

We last dined at Villa Capri, an Italian restaurant in the NASA/Clear Lake area of Houston relatively close to where we live. The view is spectacular. It's great for outdoor dining in the beautiful garden.
