Hey there, as the title suggests, i'm having trouble with my right knee. After i have played football for a while (today i played for 4hours) and it has happened after two as well - if i put my knee into the wrong position, it clicks out and it's really hard and painful to straighten my leg, and it will randomly pop back in again after a couple of mins. it feels like it clicks out on the outside of just besides/below the knee. If this is of any relevance, i'm left footed.
i was wondering if anyone else has this problem and any ideas how to solve it? I'm thinking of getting it checked out by my Doc' - as i have had knee trouble before (but nothing to d with popping out!- i had osgood schlaners (sp?))
any help/ideas and opinions welcome!
From your description it sounds like it might be a meniscus problem. I'd definitely see a doctor.

Sounds like Torn cartiledge. It will not heal. Go to the doctor soon. If you have to have surgery, PICK YOUR DOCTOR WITH EXTREME CAUTION (i wish i had!).
Good luck.

i have a similar problem. everytime i straighten and bend my knees it clicks in and out and there is pain on the spot were it clicks in and out which is for the right knee right on the bottom left of the kneecap. ive had very slight knee problems for a looong time but after intense practise everyday my knees just couldnt take it anymore. now i cant even run properly because my knees are too weak. also my knees position is kinda different from others...the thing under the kneecap is more diagonal than straight compared to others. i went to the doctor and all he said was to build muscle around my knees. if anyone knows anything about this thanks so much.

GO SEE A DOCTOR. I did my ACL four years ago and I just thought it was a sprain. I figured if I stopped playing for a while it would clear up and Id be fine. My knee then started to sort of lock up randomly which was quite painful. I tried to play on it two months later and my knee completely buckled to the horror of the referee (who was in a direct line of sight). I went to the doc, they did the MRI and cut me open. Eight months later and I was playing again. Im 35 and it feels stronger than it ever has. It sounds like you have something serious going on down there and it would be best to have it looked at. You are just delaying your recovery if you dont.
persianfootball,
During my ACL rehab, much attention was focused on strengthening the muscles around the knee. About three to four weeks after the surgery, they had me ride a stationary bike pedaling with my right leg only which did lots to strengthen that area around the knee. Dont start with alot of resistance, work you way up. Do a google search for ACL rehab and I bet youll find some helpful things for your crocked knees :D

It does sound like there could be meniscus damage. That ain't all that bad. You could be operated on and back on the field in a month.
It is, also, possible you've torn your ACL. Meniscus damage usally occurs with a broken ACL.
Go to a doctor and insist on an MRI. While I understand MRIs aren't always 100%, they come pretty close.
One other suggestion, try switching to a different brand of studs and see if it still happens.
