It speaks volumes that your second place finish last season was a triumph, whereas at united or arsenal that would be a complete failure.

Aaah, the absolutist Spurs fan ... one of football's little joys for the rest of us.

Second place in the context of last season was a success. A transitory one. Now, as things turned out, we've had a sticky patch, but that does nothing to elevate that second place above what it actually was. We were second best in the league. And that's not good enough. You see, as much as Spurs fans would like to believe it is not so, they are the only fans in the world for whom mediocrity is acceptable as long as their infantile delusions about the size and nature of their club are occasionally indulged by the rational world around them.

This season has been a failure for us on the main front. But that does not mean it ties in to the League Cup triumph, won against the Mancs. You expose your lack of understanding in these matters by pretending to know otherwise.

What - above and beyond the above? Sheesh!! Don't want much, do you?

Put simply, the result on Sunday is totally separate from our season. So, whilst it is true that Liverpool fans had loftier ambitions for the league this season than we look like achieving, there is not a single Reds fan in the Universe who would not take a Cup Final win against the Mancs, as is, at the drop of a hat. And our league form is irrelevant in that context.

So, at the beginning of the season, if your supporters had to choose which they'd rather have:

A. Beat United in the League Cup
B. Finish above United in the League

Which would they all say?

B

Sigh ....

Nope. Not unless Option B was amended to

"Come above United, who finish in second place."

Look, do we really have to expand the Liverpool/United 101 session to yet another clueless outsider? It's really an issue for the fans of either club alone, you know what I mean?

Believe me, your put-downs and baitings are more boring and tiresome than your team's style of play.

And yet you seem endlessly fascinated by both ...

"Fascinated"? No. More like "morbid curiosity". Cheers.

morbid: "Psychologically unhealthy or unwholesome:"

Morbid curiosity it is, then!

Actually, I think I preferred "fascinated". Less creepy from my perspective.

Get a room you two.

Liverpool won and deserved it. And all this defend defend defend bashing for liverpool, It could of easily have been 3 or 4-0, should have been 3 but oh well....but er guess what, they have another cup.......unlike spurs.
