I say no way! Give D Bent another 10k/wk as a bonus for his great season. he is only going to get better, not much to lose. If 'pool is really bidding near 10mil now and A Johnson just went for 8.6 playing not really that great in the championship what does charlton have to risk by not selling now?

Is there a time limit on the sell on clause with Ips town?

What do you think?

I don't think it wil be a matter of whether we want to sell or not. If he gets tapped up by a big club, I can't imagine he'd want to stay. The same thing applies to Luke Young.

The only hope we have is that they succeed in winning one of the two Fair Play UEFA Cup spots in Sunday's lottery. Europe would be enough to convince them to stay.

I forgot about the Young rumors, he should go (and murray should sell) if a big club wants to buy at a good price.. but I think DB would be better off playing at least one more full season before going to a big club. If 'pool want him now and he has another 20+ goal season then the list next year might include even bigger clubs and an even bigger contract/fee.

Luckily for us, both players are on holiday rather than training for Germany.

hammers only offering 3.6 mil for Young? they bought him for 4 and he is now a much improved player and england int'l.. I thought the bids would be in the 6 mil range.

We probably would have received a £6m bid if it weren't for the fact that he has publicly filed for a transfer. He is now a disgrunted player and other clubs know this so they can offer much lower bids because they know that Charlton are going to have sell him.

He is in his last year of his contract and will not sign another. One more season and he walks away on a free. What do you think is best?
