The ref was completely shit in the US match.
Well to be fair Pablo's tackle was stupid. Two feet studs up is not smart me thinks.

Mmmmm, I think I would have to go with van Bommel after Robben. His tackles are disgusting.

If that was a straight red, then I'm the Queen of England.

What red card?I was thinking he picked up a second yellow for diving against CI. But I'm wrong, it was his only card in the game Ooops. :o

I didn't think he caught him studs up, to be honest, and he tried to win the ball. Reckless, yes, and warranting a yellow card. But not violent, and definitely not a red.

And for the record, I didn't even think Pope's tackle warranted a foul, let alone a second yellow.

Yellow in most countries, but a red in Uruguay.

Plus in a world cup match in Europe against a European power, a two foot studs up tackle will bring red more times than not. It was a stupid challenge and I watched that match three times and both cards were deserved.

I beg to differ that Mastroeni's was deserving of a straight red. Pope's maybe because it's a dumb tackle to make with a yellow card. However Pablo went in going for the ball, was a little late, but some replays showed that he caught the ball first. Maybe a yellow but in no way did that tackle deserve a straight red card. Where was the intent to injure? Where was the dangerous play?

Graeme, what was the high temperature in Newcastle today?

That's point my wife was like "Time to take the kids to Target." :D

On a side note how cool is soccer in HD. I wish we could get the prem or MLS games like that.

19C?? Today it was about 32C here. Luckily it rained. I'd like to be on a higher line of latitude.

Yea I was livid. My little brother I think was even more upset. He's 9 and he was dropping F-bombs at the ref. It was time for him to go to his room at that point. :D

Let's use Fahrenheit shall we? I was up visiting Fresno State and it was 105 at 6pm. When I got back to Orange County at 6 the next day it was 75.

That's crazy. Can't weird things happen to your body when the temperature drops so drastically?

It's been mid-to-upper 90's basically everyday for the past two weeks, plus it's the South, so the humidity is wicked.
