Well there was a time when up here people didn't give a crap about the world cup. But due to the shit that is our media lots of the young un's have become infected with the In-ger-land bug. :rolleyes: Walking around with Rooney on their shirts a day after he's just put two past us. Makes me ********ing sick.

I won't get hurt, if anyone trys anything a punch with a set of keys inbetween the fingers will see them off. :cool:

4) GhanaI love Germany the country, I dislike Germany the team. I don't have a major beef. I'm a big fan of Holland, and there's some serious animosity between the 2. Plus, I am generally unimpressed with the German squad, and so many people are predicting them to make it to the semis, finals or to win; I'd just like to be confirmed in my assessment that they're nothing spectacular. (Same reason I'm rooting against England; that, and I really can't look at Crouch for extended periods with getting nauseous.)

I am contractually obligated thru birth and marriage to predict that the US and Italy will finish 1st and 2nd in the group. :D

You must be listening to the wrong people. Head over to the Germany board and you'll find that the German citizenry (as well as the players themselves!) aren't too optimistic. That's one reason I want to see Germany win it all, to put a smile on the faces of the German people (plus I lived there for 7 years).

And yesterday ESPN analyst Tommy Smyth (love him or hate him) predicted Italy to win it all. So anything's possible. Hell, the US might even lose to Ghana (knock on wood).

I would rather pull for a not so fabulous squad like Tunisia (with little football history) to do well than a not so fabulous squad like Germany (a definite former and future great). I guess, for me, they're not underdog enough to be underdogs and not awesome enough to be awesome. :D
