I broke down and bought the new Toon away shirt at my local soccer shop. It is MUCH nicer in real life than, say, on the internet. The colors are actually very cool. I recommend it.

I might have to just break down as well. The only problem is I will have to order over the net and that is really a hassle.

How so? It just takes a few days if you order from the bigsoccer shop. I picked up my first Newcastle shirt from them, they're pretty good. I'm assuming, of course, that you have your own credit/debit card. I didn't have my own until I was in college.

Yea, I don't have my own and if I spoke a word of wanting to order a soccer jersey towards my Dad he would give me an awkward look. He likes the game but thinks it's too slow, and of course me being a football player (he was too) he doesn't understand why I like soccer so much. The only way I ever accquire soccer gear is if I can buy it at the local store. That or a gift from the Romanian guy. :D

I swear Romanians, generally speaking, are the nicest people ever.

So is it Claret and Blue, Red and Blue, Maroon and Navy, Maroon and Blue, Claret and Navy or Red and Navy?
..and if you could submit a Pantone TC or Uncoated Spot color I would relate a lot easier to it (print versus textile versus web friendly--ya know that thing)

Correct, they are similar, the key difference is that the Toon change shirt has gold stripes and accents (it's an "old gold)...unlike the Avs, no white at all (except on the crest).

To answer mplsTOON, the chest is of a maroon color, and the arms are a rare shade of blue, I can't really describe it. Almost a gray-blue.

I've got to agree. They also rarely let anyone else pay.

I was at my friend's soccer shop a little over a week ago, when some dude walks in asking the price on the Celtic shirt.

$30.

Why so cheap?

Just getting rid of last year's stock.

Awesome.

Dude ends up taking the jersey right next to it, also last year's.

Last year's Newcastle kit.

$45.

No explanation.

I still wonder why the change of heart after 10 minutes of inspecting the Celtic top.

Quick straw poll before I commit to it: I'm going to get a change kit, and I'm wondering whether I should take a player name and number or leave it nameless.

My choices are: Duff (he's been one of my favourite players for years), Shearer (iron-clad legend), or leave it nameless. But I can't decide. Advice, people!

Why not put your name on it?

That's treading on Man-law grey area there. I'll just put Shearer's on it. It'd be like getting a Babe Ruth Yankees jersey.

I wouldn't get Shearer's name on this year's change kit. Last year's maybe...because he actually wore it....
