The Liverpool Echo is running a five-part series on Duncan Ferguson -- so far parts 1 and 2 have come out:

Part 1: Duncan Ferguson: Icon or hooligan? (http://icliverpool.icnetwork.co.uk/0400evertonfc/0100news/tm_objectid=17149165%26method=full%26siteid=50061-name_page.html)

Part 2: Start of a love affair as Dunc hits Goodison (http://icliverpool.icnetwork.co.uk/0400evertonfc/0100news/tm_objectid=17153596%26method=full%26siteid=50061%26headline=start%2dof%2da%2dlove%2daffair%2das%2ddunc%2dhits%2dgoodison-name_page.html)

Couldn't help thinking of Sara when I saw part 2's title. :)

he's part of Everton folklore because of his temper, his passion, his loyalty, and the fact that he has an everton crest with the number 9 tatooed on his arm.

But never for consistency, and scoring goals.

He is my favourite Everton player ever. (I was too young to remember before 1992) And Big Dunc came to us in 1994. He saved us from relegation when he came. A bit like what Kevin Campbell did too.

But he was frustratingly injury plagued and already past it in 1998. He never scored more than six league goals since the 1997/98 season for us.

I was sad with his move to Newcastle and but actually sad when we bought him back coz I knew he was past it.

Goals for us.....
2005/06 - 1
2004/05 - 8
2003/04 - 5
2002/03 - 0
2001/02 - 6
2000/01 - 6
1999/00 - Newcastle player
1998/99 - Newcastle player
1997/98 - 4
1996/97 - 11
1995/96 - 10
1994/95 - 5

Not the best of records over 10 seasons, yeah he was injury plagued. Everyone goes on about loyalty. But maybe it was more of Everton being loyal to him.

Part of Everton folklore but not even in the top 20 for our best striker ever. He had the potential to be the best though, thats what really annoys me.
