Non-existent midfield so far...perhaps I'm reading too much into it, but the formation seems to suffer in this game so far...up front Saha and Henry are a lot better than Cisse and Trezeguet

Your not joking my friend. Ribery has gone from not playing to being the second option to Zidane in the middle. Just stay on the bench where you belong Vikash!

Quick thoughts:

Defense was very strong again. Barthez really didn't have much to do. Abidal (again!) was great.

Midfield/Attacking formation wasn't so great. It can't work with both Vieria and Makelele. Vieria doesn't play the RM position. He wasn't in the game in the first half.

Zidane played kind of soft again. I wonder how essential he is - I think he might be for his his leadership/passing, but he needs another midfielder to cover him more. Another reason to take out Vieria. He passes the ball well and has a good presence, but he isn't active enough, at least for that formation.

Henry was really good. Looked very dangerous at several times. Maybe '06 will be his year at the WC.

Agreed again with Ribery. The guy is a spark and he has tremendous ball control skills. He really should replace Vieria if they are going to play that 4-3-1-2. Wiltord was solid sub and Cisse provided a fair bit, I thought.

To be honnest, this is the first game I've seen since YEARS where we were at least as strong without Zidane than with him.

This game against Denmark was very positive to me. We have decent players playing well together, and that's very satisfying to see. :)

The only bad points were : Firstly, we've made too many faults, especially during the 1st half-time. The referee has been very nice with us and that will certainly not be the case in Germany. Secondly, the starting line up was too weak on the right side. All our attacks came from the left wing and even more important our right wing defence was weak. We were lacking a player in front of Sagnol/Thuram.

Saha did make a good game, but he's too offensive and there was obviously a hole in the right wing midfield. It seems obvious to me that we should play in 4-5-1 during this world cup, with Henry in front and Malouda and Wiltord/Ribery on the wings. With two forwards, the team is too disbalanced on the left.

Anyway, this game made me felt better, even if it was of course only a friendly counting for nothing. :)
