View Full Version : Are you happy with you Cable or Satellite service?

So I'm pretty sick of my cable, currently TWC. I dont have service again today, noone knows why they are sending a tech next week....again :(. I'm serious considering making the move to Dish. I noticed Dish doesnt have the Canal Peru channel, Directv does but how good is it. I'm looking at the DishLatinoHD Platinum package as it would contain most of the channels of my interest. Any one have this?

And, oh yeah, I'm thinking of going to Verizon phone service plus DSL. I never had DSL, how much slower is it than cable? I know right now with all the signal loss at my place I cant be getting full high speed anyway and I've heard DSL isnt that bad.

But, consider yourself warned. There is no ESPN or ESPN 2 or some other "usual" channels you would imagine you would get with most packages.

Did you click that link I put, I think it has all the channels I would need including the espn ones, no?

Whoops, I didn't notice you were getting the HD package. I guess that includes ESPN and ESPN2 plus the HD's.
You're gonna dish out 100$ a month ?

Well being that I'm paying like 130$ for cable HD with alot of channels, 3 boxes. 100$ seems like its going cheaper for me, with way more soccer channels. Can I afford it? I could probably spend the 100 a month on something more important but hey my HD stuff is important. So damn I guess noone has this package, I remember someone saying that they had it.

I pay $180 a month for the Dish everything package plus Latino and porn packages. :p I have the local channels and 4 recievers (one a DVR), too. When I finally get an HD set I may never leave home again.
Sur Peru isn't all that when regular Sur has the Peru stuff you need anyway. I hear Dish is taking two Latino stations off due to lackluster ratings and Cable Magico is still in their plans...Peruvian futbol.
I have road runner at home and dsl at work. I can't notice any difference.

What 2 latino stations is Dish getting rid of? Will Cable Magico be added automatically if you already have the latino package? How does the package I'm thinking of getting look for the money?

Thing has all the HD channels offered by Dish. I get that Rushhd or Worldsporthd where they have the HD rights to Real Madrid and Barcelona games. I get Espn Deportes, Fox Soccer Channel, Fox sports en espanol, GolTV. What else? I think I'm straight for soccer. Also I'm not sure if you or anyone has gone through this but its hard to get FSC and Fox Sports en Espanol together unless you get some huge package, and I think this one makes sense to me.
As for the Dsl vs. Cable difference, I didnt think there was any huge difference. For work and the often online gaming we do here I believe Dsl should suffice.

Regular SUR does show "Recargados de Risa" and Futbol en America. Cuarto Poder, morning and nightly news as well. Also the theatre/comedy show "Teattro desde el Teatro"

It's not Barcelona and Madrid games, but the "Game of the Week" actually. So you won't get Barca or Madrid every week.

Dish Latino Max is the perfect package for futbol. Carries all the main futbol channels like FSC, FSE, GOLtv, ESPNDeportes in one package. As well as the other so-so futbol channels ESPN, ESPN2, Univision, Telemundo, Galavision, Telefutura...

Yea, they ask you if you want it when you are ordering your Dish Service. Unfortunately my mother said no :(

Yea, you have to be specific and ask for it. I was ashamed for a few seconds. :o
But hey, put a password to it and they can't access it. Somehow my nephew always figures out my brother's passwords because he uses birthdays and such. :D

But it is included right? You just have to ask for it. You know I'm not ashamed, I'll even ask the customer rep what she feels are the pros and cons of taking the channel :D They dont want me on the phone ;)

I don't like having to change the language setting back and forth from Spanish to English when I switch back and forth between GolTV and some other channel.

Right, and did you see what I could get for $100 or so? Damng I wanna jump on this, but who got the Dish HD package. I needs more info, like do they expect me to buy the HD box?
