granted, i pull for both but i have to lean towards the Fireball being my favorite simply for the fact that i'm a non-Atlantan. even though Atlanta and Augusta is about equal distance for me, i feel it goes back to highschool with the Atlanta schools vs. the rest of the state schools for me. still, I haven't been to a single PDL game though and i hope to see the Silverbacks U-23 succeed because they'll feed to the Silverbacks senior team. i think pressuring the advertisement of PDL would be beneficial to the south's success. young, rivalries will help build the passion of the sport.

i wish Athens would get a PDL team even if they had to move the Fireball to get it. somehow top level U-23 soccer needs to come to Athens no matter if it's college or PDL.

I think an Athens PDL team could very well be successful if they could work something out with UGA.

I think like 6 of the players from Concord Fire RPL team went to UGA. And thats just this fall.
I know a kid who went there who recieved Div 1 offers but wanted to focus on his pre-med degree and wouldnt get a big enough scholarship to go out of state.
UGA have the players to field a PDL team.

I know a guy that goes to UGA that turned down a chance to play with the US u-17 team...he easily could have turned pro at 16, but that ship has sailed. Anyways, the point is that the talent is there, but so long as there isn't collegiate level soccer at UGA than the more Georgia players aren't going to make that next step.

I figured most of you guys already knew, but just in case, the Augusta Fireballs PDL team has folded for the 2007 season.
Sorry.

that sucks. Any reason why? link? Personally, i'd like to see the team move to Athens were they would probably do better for having an U-23 team.
Either way, i hate hearing about any team folding.
