I think i need to talk to my coach about this. There are 5 forwards in my team but only 2 of us can actually score a goal. The other 3 have no accuracy, power or co-ordination in their shots. No matter how much they practice, they don't seem to be getting the hang of it. Does anyone know of any methods that can help them improve. Its really annoying but also quite embarrasing when they miss a shot.

The answer might depend on a few things. Can you tell us the level of soccer you are playing at and the amount of these players' experience?

I don't know about their individual situation, but as for me, I really struggled when i was a freshman in high school because I started thinking too much when I was shooting. I finally just got down to "first glance, first shot" and stopped second guessing myself. That is to say that I took the first shot that came to mind and become a bit greedy when the time called for it and not just passing it along to someone else either. Just try a few drills when they are 2 v 1 (GK and defender vs Striker) and then eventually working up to 3 or 4 defenders vs 2/3 strikers. Try to establish the training with with an emphasis on "flow of the attack." It could just be their nerves...
anyways, it's 5 am and I havent slept yet. this may all be nonsensical ;)

Where I come from this kind of people just stay in the bench. People fight for playing time by being the best they can be and coaches know this. Whenever someone from the bench gets tired of being always there, he has to really show he can do something by training hard and perform like he is giving his 100% porcent the few times he gets to play. If he does not bring something to the team then he goes back to the bench.
If we were talking about a not so competitive environment, I wouldn't care so much about some teammates being not so good, because this kind of soccer is just for fun and excercise.
Now if we are talking about any kind of soccer tournament (including tournaments among local schools) I would certainly want to win, so talking to the coach wouldn't be bad in my opinion.

Why have they been designated forwards? You don't have enough players and they'd do the least damage there? Could they play at the back or midfield or are they totally unskilled?
If they're new to the game and don't know the proper way to strike the ball, maybe the coach needs to cover what they should have learned in U10. Show them where to put their feet, etc.
If they know how to kick it and can't get it together somehow, try something that takes the mental part out to see if it's head problems. I'd suggest rapid fire on the GKs. Let them kick as fast as they want (it's more for them than the GK) with the balls about 5 yards apart across the 18. Hopefully they can pick their spots and get a couple on frame.
Aside from that, just hours on their own with a goal. Hit cross bar, goal post, side net on fly/one hop, hit the support pole in the back, etc.
