im so fustrated with my teams mids. They are usually good in the first half but thats because the good ones are on. Anyway in the second half they always lose their postitions and just run after the ball. They seem to stop about half way when the ball gets up to the forwards. Its so hard for us forwards to try and score when there is no support. Also they dont actually stay midfield, most of the time they drop back with the backs. This is especially noticable when our goalie takes a goal kick. The ball is usually kicked to where the mids should be, but they arent there, which means the forwards usually have to run and get it. We usually have to do the jobs of the mids as well as our own. Please help cos i really dont know how to solve this problem, because no matter how hard the forwards try to tell them to keep their postitions, they dont seem to get it through their heads.

talk to your coach and see what he can do.

I would suggest changing formations. Also, maybe mix it up, don't put all the mids who know where to play all together. If you put a good with a bad mid, the positioning can rub off. As for the formation, maybe try something where the people who don't know where to go have a pretty easy job. I would think something like the 4-2-3-1 from here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Formation_%28football%29 The best example would be to have one of the mids who knows positioning playing in the Offensive mid, and tell the two other ones to just stay level with him, unless he advance to much.
This seems like a problem that should be discussed with your coach and should be practiced in... well practice.
