This is the GARCIA surname escudo, exactly like the one I got framed in my office. Its origin is from Spain.

Anyone ever hear of the difference from Grcia and Garcia (with the accent on the i)? I believe is has to do with the Sephardic Garcia's, but not sure. Real Jews hate it when I claim to be Jewish, even though I am Roman Catholic. :D

This name is also seen as a first name as well as a last name. There was a football player for Ohio State named Garcia Lane back in the day. Ironicly, I have also seen my fisrt name as a last name.

BTW, I saw on Jeorpardy! that the word "avatar" is of Egyptian origin. I tend to enjoy silly facts and totally love that show!
