I've been noticing some rough language bouncing around BigSoccer recently and I just wanted to help keep things kind of humorous and in perspective.

Remember back in Jan/Dec when all the trade rumors were bouncing back and forth between United and the MetroScum....

Now, think of your opinion of Petke now that we've met him or heard of people's experiences with him.

Ok, no go to this forum and refresh on your original opinion

What a difference a month makes.

Gotta love BigSoccer

i still think he's a hack and an affront to the game, and just because he might be a crack-up in person and has charmed a few internet soccer geeks doesn't mean that i am going to think he's a good player or even close to a replacement for what we lost.

he sucks.

It's not a race, Jose.

And thanks for the 60-second rule.

Nah, he's still a wanker, but now he's our wanker.

He is kinda like Roy Keane, he is either loved or hated, there is no middle ground.

Actually, I was trying to weasel out of the fact that I revived that old thread for which the link is provided in this thread.

You forgot to thank me for no the post count over in the FFA! :D

And the loss of the word association thread here in the DC United Forum! :D

Corrected your post. :D

As long as he wacks the opponent's forwards, I have no problem with him.

It's a dirty job, but somebody has to do it!

I wish he was like Roy Keane in his playing style! ;)

I wish every player on DC had his playing style.

You know.....a comparison to Roy Keane is not exactly what I was expecting in this thread.

I'll go crazy here and say I am very much looking forward to Petke playing for us this year. No wanker, just another guy in our uniform trying to help us win some Cups this year.

If he treats the game like he did when he was a Metro then I'll still consider him a wanker. If he acts like he did when he got redcards and being disrespectful to fans then he'll be a wanker. But this year, I'm as or more worried about Stoichkov and Etch. Both have histories of acting like wankers.
Being a wanker is based on how you act not just on the jersey you wear.
I hope this year DC has an all time low wankerage level.

Given that Petke has played exactly 0 minutes for DC United in a game that matters, I see no reason to change my judgements about him. Sure, he seems to be a reasonably friendly guy, but I'm betting that talking with any 'professional' player in MLS you would get the same reaction. He is very happy to be out of the cesspool that is North Jersey and the Metroscum but then again who in with 1/4 of a brain wouldn't be...

When he steps on the field and plays well for DC United, then I'll let that change my mind, until then he is still a newly cleaned Metroscum!

No you don't...we'd be a ten-man club all season.
