but the match was sponsored by betandwin (look at advertisement in background)

Yes, i think it was 2002. But that wasn´t Werders fault,
Werder instructed a company to look for new sponsors.
They didn´t find one, so they had to pay the money to Werder. No loss.

This season it´s also not Werders fault:
The problem is, that some German federal states
don´t see betandwin as a legal "bet-company",
because they got their licenses from the GDR.
The thing must be clear at court.

If the court decides, betandwins licences are not legal,
then Werder would be in this siuation:
Werder has a contract with betandwin,
so betandwin has to pay for the sponsoring
or makes Werder an offer to cancel the contract.
If the contract will be cancelled, Werder can look for a new sponsor.
