I was impressed with Werder Bremen's performance. Keep it up in the Champions League. With performances like the one against Barca, you deserve to go far than the next round.

Really too bad. But no shame for Bremen, they should still be pleased. They played well, and a point against Barca is a good result to have no matter what. Qualification can be little more than a dream for Bremen, but this was still a good performance.
It was a good performance, but I think if they build on that performance, Werder could steal second. They just have to slam Levski Sofia the way Barca did and try to steal that match from Chelsea at home.
I don't like their chances against Chelsea, but they can do it.
This was the match in this group I thought Werder could steal (See comment below) even though I was rooting for Barca.

Bremen damned near pulled it off.
I see some of you complaining about the officiating.
That's fine, but in the end, I feel Barca's superior quality was the difference.
Of course, Barca are in better form now than they were when I wrote that older comment, but I still stand by it. I think Chelsea would have to not play to their potential for Werder to beat them even at home.
I thought Bremen could steal one from Barca in Bremen. I don't rate their chances of stealing one in Barcelona very highly. They CAN DO IT, but I don't think they will.
Kudos to Werder for not putting their heads down when Barca got the equalizer. Way to hold on to that point.
Messi was excellent, he had two absolutely brilliant scenes in the game. I'm surprised he's still a sub at Barca.
With Eto'o injured, he might not be for long......

At least the people, who like to speak about the crisis in German football,
shut up for a while after the performances of Bayern and us (so angry about the last minutes,
but the players ran very much in the match and had no more stamina) today.
While I agree that there is hardly any German Football "crisis", good performances by two teams on one night hardly proves anything.
Great to see that you have your pride though!

More bad news, Borowski has a knee injury and is out for several weeks.

I was impressed with Aaron Hunt and Christian Schulz.
Further on, it is great that Werder plays with so many German players (9 players).
The goal was unfortunate - but Werder deserves RESPECT for this game.

"The goal was unfortunate" - Yes, for Werder/German fans, but it was also richly deserved.
"But Werder deserves RESPECT for this game." - I agree. Most definitely.
Now, was it the real Werder we're going to see for the rest of the season or just a "one time, over their heads" performance??
I think that's the major question here......

awsome performance. poor bremen, cant catch a break. last year in the CL against Juvents and now this. its unfortunate to let in a goal in th 89th minutes but the game is 90 minutes long so, it happens...

Do you want a Puma jersey from the 98/99 season? Its size M but more like XL. How tall are you. I'm 1.80 m (5ft 11) and it's too large for me. It's long sleeve and doesn't have a number on the back but "SV Werder" written on it

Congrats to Werder for the well-deserved 3:0 victory over my BMG!
Despite another poor away performance of the own team, the Borussia fans enjoyed the trip to Bremen and celebrated a party together with the home supporters. ;)

Klose keen on foreign fling (http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx?hlid=420080&CPID=22&clid=171&lid=2&title=Klose+keen+on+foreign+fling)
What would you rate your chances of re-signing him?

I think it's too early to tell that. If Bremen win the title this season, I think that will increase their chances.
However, even if that happens and Real, Barca, Man U., Chelsea (Although I don't think he'll go to Chelsea), Liverpool, Arsenal, or AC Milan come calling, I think he may go.
At least he all but ruled out moving to Bayern! ;)
And yes, despite the source, I think the story is a good one.
I think Bremen have to sit down and talk with him near the end of this season. If he doesn't want to extend then, Bremen may be forced to sell him. :(

Honestly i think he leaves next summer, but we´ll see.
Depends on the offers and finally it´s Miros decision.

though it hurts to admit it, i do believe Klose will move on to bigger and better (payroll wise) clubs. Hes just too good and too big of a name to be kept out of the premiership and from a contending champions league team. I just hope he goes to a club i like, such as Arsenal.

I just hope he doesn't go to Barca...Eto'o will be the #1 striker, and, despite what Rijkaard says, he's not going to change the lineup to fit Klose as the second striker, because Messi and Ronaldinho are just too good.. Believe it or not the best place he should go is Olympique Lyonnais. He would be definitely the missing link for them IMHO. But payroll wise, Lyon is just like Werder almost, so I don't think it will happen. Second best option: Arsenal. Klose-Henry  sorry Werder fans, but that would be the most incredible strikeforce in the world, better than Shevchenko-Drogba, better than even the Barca triumverate IMHO.

I wonder how much Klose & Henry would compliment each other seeing that their attacking styles aren't that far apart.
Honestly, I'd love to see him at Barca. In England, I'd prefer to see him at Man U., but of course, these are my personal preferences.
Even though I don't want to see it, I think Klose and van Nistellroy would be SCARY good.......
And I'm still happy he all but ruled out going to Bayern! LOL!! :D
