Did anyone see that new Sportscenter commercial showing these English soccer hooligans? They were flipping cars and causing trouble.

It was hilarious as most SportsCenter commercials are. Great to finally see a soccer one.

You're right. They should have included Mia Hamm somehow. ;)

Plus you gotta appreciate the touch of going to the bother of including the authentic Bristol Rovers jersies--what miniscule-ass percentage of the audience would pick up on it if they didn't?

Great ad, like all Sportscenter ones are. Noticed the Bristol Rovers jersey as well, they go all-out when they do the ads. I would love to know who does their creative work, whether it's all in house, or if they have a firm doing it for them. The Sportscenter ads are consistently excellent, over a period of years.

Authentic Bristol Rovers jerseys but Union Jacks instead of Crosses of St. George. Go figure...

exactly... the union jacks instead of st geoges cross is a mistake, esp since theyre chanting "england!" arent they?

kinda like all those ************ing idiot scenesters who have patches of the union jack and are all about england... yet cant even properly identify st georges cross "whats that, the danish flag?"

ESPN's longtime ad agency was Wieden & Kennedy. They created the SportsCenter spots. I don't know if they are still the agency, but I'd be shocked if they weren't. They also do Nike.

The best part is when they are all geting off the bus and look total hung over. I noticed the union jacks also but there are a couple of Engalnd flags and face paint.

Yep. It's still Wieden & Kennedy. I wish MLS would hire them.

Great commercial. I admit, it may make soccer look bad but more so the English fan. As for the Union Jack vs Cross of St George, if you have not noticed, but England is part of the UK, and as such, that flag flies at every ground...just look at any Premier League match, you will tend to find more Union Jacks and Royal Navy standards than the Cross of St George. The Union Jack has appeared at England matches, look at World Cup 66, 82, and 86. The Union Jack appears at Rangers matches in Scotland as well. Where you will not see a Union Jack is at any ground in Wales.

The dude getting busted over the head with a bottle was the best part.

"Are you the guys from Bristol?"

SMASH!

Great stuff.

Check their website. At some point last year I remember finding a page on the site that had all of the This Is Sportscenter commercials playable. In fact the link was on the front page.
