I liked the part where the anchor opens the men's room door and all the Bristol fans are in there, singing "Here we go, here we go, here we go..."

I'm guessing we'll eventually find it here....

He's moved on to directing though.

You've seen the stands for England matches--a lot (yes, a minority, but still a lot) of English fans make the same error.

Great commercial. Best of use of soccer in a non-soccer commercial since the Circuit City ad.

The first thing I did when Garber was hired was write him with that very suggestion.
I got not reply. :(

I know Stacy very well. I've worked with him on a few commercials he directed. Small world.
And yes, he's a genius.

It was hilarious as most SportsCenter commercials are. Great to finally see a soccer one.
There was one a few years ago too, where Kenny Mayne and Alexi Lalas were playing foosball. I don't remember who the other two were in the spot, but I remember Kenny Mayne scoring and running around pulling up his shirt and acting like a dork, while Alexi stared at him with a hilarious look on his face.

Sportscenter has the best commercials on television. This is another in the long line of funny commercials.

There was also one with Alexi Lalas, in about 1995 or so, where Lalas is going fro desk to desk in the newsroom playing songs on hs guitar and mumbling about "wanting to feel some love in the room." Finally, Keith Olbermann grabs his guitar and slams it into a file cabnet or a desk or something and hands it back to him. Funny stuff.

The SportCenter english football hooligans commercial is indeed funny. For soccer-haters, of which I'm sure there are many who are SportCenter viewers, it makes fun of the sport. For soccer fans, it makes fun of the English. Very clever.

There was another SC commercial a few years ago that had Kenny Mayne doing a slide and laying there a la Brian Laudrup WC '98. Twas a very funny commercial.
Signature - I'm a cheap bastard

I see SI editorialized against the commercial in the latest issue...unfairly stereotypes soccer fans and makes light of serious problems of violence. The bottle on the head move was singled out in particular.
I have to admit I liked the ad anyway.
